Grifball Players are Frustrating

This thread is mostly just venting because, the last few games of Grifball that I have been a part of have been completely frustrating. I have been paired up with at least one person who finds is amusing to kill everyone on my team. I don’t understand those kinds of players.

“Hey do you know what would be super fun? If I killed all of my teammates in a TEAM BASED gametype!”

Not to mention that as soon as the other team takes the lead, they hoard the ball in the back of the map until time runs out. I don’t understand how someone could find that enjoyable either!

Sorry about my tangent, I just needed to vent and see if I’m the only one who seems to be put into these types of games. Because, honestly, that was more frustrating than playing Modern Warfare 3 in it’s first week.

Turn Friendly fire off 343!

> Turn Friendly fire off 343!

Please!

I dunno. I used to like Grifball, but the Halo 4 variant doesn’t do it for me. Gravity Hammer’s range is huge, instant spawn is crazy, and I miss how it went in rounds. I love the new ball throwing feature, but nobody ever does it.

Yeah I think they should take out instant respawn and turn off friendly fire.

Pro fixes the instant spawn and round things, and removes shields so that you can acually tie against hammer with sword. Still doesn’t feel right to me though.

@OP
Those kind of people have been around since h3. Instead of picking a gametype they want to play, on a game they want to play, they have no game they actually enjoy. So they invent stupid mini-games like ‘hold the ball to gain imaginary space money’ or ‘grief my teammates because I’m immature’ or ‘don’t score so I can spawn kill, I suck at getting kills unless the opponent can’t move!’.

If they turn off friendly fire, then people will just boost (grav hammer) the person holding the ball/bomb to the scoring area.

And/or each other to spawn camp.

And besides, it wouldn’t be grifball if friendly fire was off

NO!
The other team has to kill their teammates! I smash the shields down, do a back flip, and then one derp swings- misses, and I come out on top!
For our ancestors!!! Yeeeeaaaaagh!

This

One reason I avoid Grifball like the plague. Get SO frustrated with these people.

Anybody who says to turn friendly fire off in Grifball does not understand the game.

It takes more skill if it’s on, but to many mindless players swing the hammer at ANYTHING that moves!

Yeah, I’ve been betrayed a million times and have betrayed people a million times in every iteration of Grifball, it’s meant to be pure chaos. Hell the guy who scores traditionally is supposed to blow himself up.

For our ancestor’s ancestors!!! YEEEAAAAAGH!!!

3 betrayals and you get the booting option.

> 3 betrayals and you get the booting option.

That’s too much, piranhas can strip an entire cow before you get the option to boot.

It’s nothing new. Grifball players have been doing this for ages

Huh…sounds exactly like Reach and Halo 3 grifball

funny how that works.

Grifball would not work without friendly fire. You just just launch someone to the plate and score it with no problems.

Also, betrayal booting would only be able to work if it was a pretty high number of betrayals. I’ve gotten more than 10 betrayals in a game before just because people are being stupid and standing right in front of me when I swing.
