Grifball-Play the game

I just played two matches of grifball in Reach; In the first match the enemy team grabbed the bomb and went back to a corner while two of his teammates moved forward and attacked, two players on my team went to a corner and stood there for the entire game with the final person on the enemy team. The final person on my team stood in the middle of the arena while tea bagging and the two attacking enemies did not touch him at all. So the game ended up tied because the ball was hid in the corner and it went on for the maximum amount of rounds.
In the second game I made sure I was not paired with any of the same people. So the enemy team acted the exact same way. (1 in the corner with the bomb, 2 offensive, and the last one followed my 2 passive teammates) The only difference was that my final teammate was actually trying to play the game along with myself.
I quit the second match about halfway through because It’s not fun dying 90 times in a game when your teammates do nothing to help you. But my point is that these people were not playing the game at all and It seemed like the enemy team in both games were just grinding.
Is this a trend in Reach’s grifball playlist or was I just coincidentally paired with this type of people twice in a row? Has anyone else seen this?

Unfortunately i have seen this behaviour in Grifball quiet a bit lately. If they limited party size to 4 players this would nt happen very often.

All i can suggest i check in the pregame lobby to see if a group of players are all partied up togerher and if they are just quit. You know know how it will usually end.

What gets me is if they are trying to prolong the game play for a higher credit payout they are doing it wrong. A drawn game with no bombs scored will net you a lot less credits than a game with 3 bombs scored in sudden death. If they are just commendation boosting ( mutlikills, sprees and beatdowns) then quit anyway. Why be some boosters hammer fodder.

Yes, and it’s the reason I avoid Grifball completely.

Though, to be fair - holding the ball back so that your enemy can’t score is indeed a legitimate strategy.

You found the dark side of reach friend, where all the assassination/ drama queens of halo reside. Id stay away from griffball completely mate. you don’t want to get involved with them.

Find 3 friends with mics and go into GB game as a team - it’s harder for an opposing team to just pad stats or sit on the ball.

The issue is, the longer the game lasts - the more credits you get.

343 Industries attempted to make it so the shorter games are, the more credits you get to encourage people to end games faster but it never released like that and was never fixed.

3 years later and this behavior still happens. Give credits to the winner only and see what happens.
