I know this is going to sound paranoid and dumb, but I really can’t explain why it happens.

Okay, so is it one hammer hit to kill the bomber? Or is it two? Because it seems to be one when I have the bomb, but when the enemy has the bomb and I’m the one swinging the hammer, it’s two.

And how does the bomber manage to kill my sword with such accuracy? When I get close enough to lock onto him, I’m within punching distance. And yet, when I’m the bomber and the enemy is coming at me with a sword, he locks on way before he’s within punching distance.

I’m not playing sour grapes. I’m not a sucky player. My connection isn’t bad. The hammer really does take two hits when I’m attacking the bomber, and one hit when I am the bomber. I don’t know why it happens.

it depends on the bomb holder’s health, notice the shield crackling?

> it depends on the bomb holder’s health, notice the shield crackling?

How much shield damage does the hammer do? Maybe there’s a square inch of my shield that hasn’t generated yet when I get the bomb and the hammer cracks at me, but I didn’t think that square inch was enough to be a deal-breaker.

If it’s a dead-on smack, it’s possible to do it in one hit. If they’re at half-shield or low health, it’s still possible in one hit. However, you can’t kill the bomb carrier with the Hammer in those two situations at the range you can with the other players, which makes the Sword much more viable against the bomb-carrier.

The hammer does enough damage to 1-hit kill the bomb carrier if you’re close enough. However, if the bomb carrier punches the hammer while it’s swinging, that punch blocks some of the damage so the bomb carrier can usually survive. You basically need to make the guy miss, or have a teammate distract him

Keep in mind there’s also a thing called…LAG which screws with everything.

From what I hear, the Gravity Hammer and its splash damage are extremely host-dependent.

An enemy Sword user may be using a normal melee instead of a lunge.

Pressing the melee button instead of RT will allow you to swipe immediately, without initiating a twenty-two-foot Sword lunge. Always use the melee button instead of RT if you’re already within striking distance; a lunge will always try to bring you into direct physical contact with a target before actually dealing damage, and that leaves you vulnerable.
