If I recall, 343 said that they would start cracking down on griefer activity in MCC matchmaking. If that’s true, then look no further than in Grifball. The gametype has been especially toxic lately. I’ve seen the whole round of them: Team-killers, AFKers, Players who will just stare up/down and spin in circles all game (Seriously, what is that even about?). In that last example, I had a game where my team had TWO of those. I’ve also had games where the players just don’t even play the game. Like they’ll just run around doing nothing, not scoring, not even killing each other, and wait for the clock to run out because there two stupid to realize that, unlike 360 Reach, making the game last long DOESN’T result in winning like 200,000 EXP. I’ve already had to report like 8-10 players in the last two days. Has anyone else seen how bad it is?
It’s true, they have. When the ban wave hit, there were many threads in the support forum about players being suddenly banned for “no reason”.
They are doing something. But you gotta understand just how many bans they have to be handing out…
Griefers in firefight too. They need to listen to us who actually PLAY this game and not care about the dirty afk scumbags. Amazing how if i sit in lobby for 30 seconds it boots me from search but these people can afk all day thanks to a rubber band. Remove game completion xp and afkers would get nothing. Bump up performance and teamwork. For firefight something different needs to be done as most are just getting a kill at the start and then afking

“Seriously, what is that even about?”, it’s about the season point grind. By staying in-game and “being active” to the end of matches and rounds, you get season points to unlock stuff. There’s not really any other reason for doing this, as far as I can tell. People do this in games where there’s something to unlock or achieve by simply being present and playing to get stuff.
As for the people you mention running around aimlessly, not really playing to the game…I’m not going to speak for everyone, but I’ve been sorta guilty of this on occasion. My reason is usually because I see something I have not seen before, or never got to see much of before, and I want to take a closer look at it, maybe see if I can “get up there” like on some kind of ledge, or something that might look accessible if you do something right, like a grenade jump or something. OR, I just want to take a really good look at the artsy stuff on the map. Like those Halo multiplayer maps that have Flood in Forerunner containers or something. That’s my reasons, doesn’t cover everyone, and I don’t do this all the time. Thankfully, we have Forge to do this at our own leisure, so it’s not always a problem.
As for the amount of bans and why, it’s probably going to be mostly for the people moving in circles, abusing the season point advancement system. Personally, I’m only on that second page of tiers of unlocks, 11-20 I think (if it’s 10 per page). It’s slow going for me, and can’t help but feel a little envious. But I play when I’m in the mood, and if I’m not in the mood, UI just turn the game off. Keep it real.
Hold up, there IS one thing of real relevance I want to add here, on top of that previous comment. About a week ago or so, I was playing MCC multiplayer, met two people, started up a chat, added into a group, played a while…but there was this problem where we couldn’t get back into multiplayer because someone in the group was idle. Turned out to be me, and I don’t know what caused it. Picked up my controller, moved the joystick a little, seemed to fix the issue. But I don’t understand why it happened in that situation, not really in multiplayer yet. Kind of annoying.
Unbelievable. This exploit is still happening, and it hasn’t been fixed on PC/MCC? Guess it’s back to playing the original game types. I have nothing else to say about this. The sad thing is I actually used to participate in these boosting sessions and I feel a hypocrite for saying these people should have their accounts banned.
Actually don’t worry about it since 99% of the time I’m the only one people are targeting. I’ll never understand why. I’m probably everyone’s favorite target
