This maybe too early to bring up since the improvement of the game is a long way to go.
Just to keep the interest, do you all think that Griffball should be added and be a permanent rather than in H5 and MCC it changes every week or so? And how should the rules be set?
For me personally, I would like to see:
- Something similar to H5 Griffball where the game keeps going until the score is reached or time runs out.
- No booting for betrayals because honestly betrayals are going to happen, especially people using the hammer. The grieffing part where the players are intentionally betraying deserves the boot.
- Sprinting or no sprinting game modes.
- Bring back the ground pounds.

I could see Grifball coming back, I’m not a huge fan of it but when I play it randomly it can be fun.

With Friendly Fire removed from Social MP, Betrayals and the resulting Kick won’t be a problem anymore.
-
I think Sprint is gonna be in all modes.
-
And Ground Pounds probably won’t be there, ever.
Also, do you think equipment could be a good inclusion to the game mode or no? If so, which equipment?
On another note, I wouldn’t mind that other game being added again from Halo 4/5 called Ricochet or whatever.

there’s no grifball without forge so likely 9 months.

Well, assault doesn’t even exist so I think grifball is a ways off since grifball is just a custom-made game variant of assault. Also side note: that’s a testament to how little effort 343 is putting in since assault has existed at launch in every game past Halo: CE, and even that had assault as a CTF variant.
As for the rules, I mean, I’m almost positive friendly fire will be off. And definitely no ground pounds; the vast majority of players hated them.
I think the Thrusters might work.
I didn’t play it, but I’d like to see it added as well.
They could just make the mode and a map for it, and I doubt that would take more than a few weeks, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we didn’t see it until Forge is released.
They apparently used Oddball for it in Halo 4 (it didn’t have Assault), and there was a new mode made for it in Halo 5.

And bring back the thruster pack as default because it added to the grifball experience. Same with stabilize.
Idk why grifball is always on the back burner it took a very long time for it to come to Halo 5

A lot people don’t realize how important the ablities we’re to custom games. There was a a lot of modes that were dependent on one or two ablities and it changed the way players saw a lot of game modes. More and more your ganna start see a lot of people missing something that used to be in their favourite game mode like ground pound. I never want it for competitive play but it has its place as a fun tool for custom game options and it did add a lot of fun to grifball

Yeah I hear ya, I just don’t see 343 bringing back Ground Pound, Thruster/Stabilizers, or Spartan Charge. I wasn’t a huge fan of the Spartan Abilities besides Thruster because it gave an extra movement to the FPS model, it was like a Dive or Roll to the side when compared to Third Person games.

I’m still puzzled till this day why people don’t find a Dodge type move fun. It’s almost like real life to me. I can be Sprinting and then a quick sudden movement and dodge out the way and then these are Spartans after all where dodging something should be second nature. Halo infinite feels like restrictive combat. Like I’m wearing a shirt that’s a little too tight. You can still move but it feels limited. In a video game I first and foremost want to have fun. If anything what would been cool is if the game allowed you to have all three powers at the same time
The repulsor. The thruster pack. And the grapple.
There are times where I’m making plays in halo infinite and I think to my self " wow I could’ve made another play if I had a default thruster pack". People always like to talk about the escapes but the thruster pack added a wealth of offensive options. It made the game more fun and engaging.

Grifball would play like crap in Infinite due to Desync/melees being crazy and Hammer being weird, but its obviously not meant for me in the first place.

Yeah hit detection and Desync is the biggest set back for this game. If they can get that issue taken care of, then they can open up new action sack games like griffball and others.
I wonder how the repulsor would work in this mode since it would be a nice defense tool.
Unless they make a specific map for it, Grifball ain’t coming in until Forge is released, and no to ground pounding.
Yeah but the “new mode” in Halo 5 was still just a modified setup of Assault; it’s the same framework. I don’t recall it being different in 4 but I didn’t play 4 a ton. Regardless, every other game still had it.
