You need to have the Hammer as your primary weapon and the sword as your secondary.
When you are getting spawn camped there is not enough time to switch to your hammer and swing before you die. Sword loses to hammer in fights so you are putting people who are spawning at a major disadvantage.

I don’t remember if that is true for Halo 3 but Halo 4 allowed you to choose which order you wanted. And I am pretty sure that if you are in the swords red reticle range you can kill them with your hammer, but I will have to test more.
Also, Betrayal boots should be completely removed from Grifball. I believe they are working on this

You are wrong. Actually you could chose in your load out if you wanted it to be primary or secondary. But most of the time, hammer beats sword
And in Halo 3, cough the game griffball originated in cough it was hammer primary and sword secondary. Also the health needs to get tweaked because it makes the ability to kill without lunging hard af. either that or the new hammer is just weird for me.

I think the range for the sword dash vs the hammer’s AoE range is the main problem. I don’t believe you can get a dash on an opponent and be out of their AoE range. I will have to test more later but its dumb that hammer always beats sword unless they don’t swing their hammer at all.
You can cheat if you are on a team , go up side , jump and let ally boost you all the way up the side , walk on thin side where no one can get you, then ground pound onto goal
