This seems to be a serious issue. I can’t even play grifball anymore because every time I do I seem to get booted. People act as if betraying is something done on purpose. I feel like these people have never played grifball in their life. Every time I get betrayed you don’t see me rage and boot my teammates. Hell I’m not even advocating for taking team killing off but I do think the betrayal booting option should be taken out of grifball. Out of the last 5 games I’ve tried to play I’ve been booted, disconnected and even given the banhammer. Why aren’t simple fixes implemented into this game more regularly? Monthly updates are great and I have no issue with them when they arrive but seriously fix the things that need to be fixed (I’m looking at you broken Halo 5 UI system)
Yep, I stopped playing Grifball after giving the hammer for 2 hours. People are so full of themselves in that playlist
Stop betraying your allies then, use your radar, switch to your sword when people get to close to you. Its not that hard.
I do know there is a problem since the screen pops up on you a bit later and some people accidentally hit yes since that what the screen automatically is set to at first
Probably because people enjoy booting others even if it means losing because ruining someone else’s day.
Learn how to play
Then learn how to use your -Yoinking!- hammer!

There’s always one with a typical and ignorant response to such an issue. Sometimes people like to run in your way while you’re in the process of trying to kill people to allow your bomber to score causing you to be on the verge to being booted.

I do I have been getting an average of 30-40 kills with it per game, but get booted for two accidental betrayals when they run in front of me trying to stop the bomber.

You must be very ignorant if you can’t realize the simple fact is teammates jump, slide, dash, pound etc into your hammer A LOT. Betrayal has always been something that just happens in Grifball. Maybe you weren’t around for for those days but no worry! You have me here to educate you.
Or you could watch where you swing.

O I was around those days but halo was pretty chill back then. I wouldnt know about teammates jumping into my hammer or whatever because I rarely use one and if I do theres no friendlies around me nor do I get into my teams way when theyre slamming their hammers away recklessly. If you get booted then its your fault not your tms. Also its not that hard to watch where you swing.
These posts are so double sided it’s funny. Unless people swing at you on purpose, most of the time your teammate runs in front of you causing a betrayal and a boot. All these “learn to swing” posts are hilarious.
You need to betray A LOT to get booted for it.

It’s 3 times I think. If you are playing aggressively using a hammer you will betray once in a while. I stopped playing grifball after getting a ban for “griefing”. It isn’t fun enough to risk getting banned because some dillweed thinks booting me (and leaving the team down a man) will help them win.
I agree with the original post

Switch to your sword when people get too close? You just summed up Griff Ball in it’s entirety. lol Everyone goes after a ball which means you are always too close to someone. If switching to the sword were the answer maybe we should get rid of the hammer all together. OR people could climb down off their pedestal and understand that it happens. Example (bear with me on this one): It would be kind of like kicking one rugby player off the field because he ran into a teammate. It’s a contact sport. Collateral damage is to be expected.

The thread is about betraying allies and getting kicked for it, obviously I meant use your sword when TEAMMATES get close to you. I’ve never been booted from Grifball for betraying, I’m not a moron and I use my situational awareness not to clobber my teammates. Sure I might get a betrayal or two because yeah it does happen sometimes and you can’t help it but these clods that just swing around randomly and get themselves kicked have only themselves to blame for it. The only people on “pedestals” I see are the numbskulls getting kicked that don’t have the common sense not to smash everything in sight including their allies.
- “Look there’s an enemy closing in on the ball but there are two friendlies on either side of me! What should I do?”
- “Switch to my sword, fan out to take down the enemy or swing the hammer and kill all three of them?”
- “Yeah that’ll do it! Oh man, why did the boot me?! I had better go complain on the internet!”

The fact that you stated “yeah it does happen and you can’t help it” is enough to validate my post. When I get in the game I swing that hammer like Thor. lol. I guess I’ve been fortunate in that I never use the sword and I am yet to be booted. Collateral damage man. If you expect to not be betrayed EVER in a close quarters game then maybe grifball isn’t for you (not you personally, The understood you as in a person playing that isn’t you that is appalled by the concept of betrayal thus, placing themselves upon said pedestal trying to make themselves the victims. Run on sentence and grammatical errors intentional).
I get it. Situational awareness is a great trait to have. Too few have it even. I guess I just need to get booted a few times to see it as a real problem. Only time will tell. lol Thanks for the input though. Some people just like to jump on others for the sake of posting something. You actually had a valid point and I can appreciate that.
I was just playing Grifball on the MCC and got betrayed 7 times without the booting option showing up once. I much prefer the system we have in Halo 5: Guardians.
