Grifball better have a HUGE win bonus

Halo these days just doesnt seem like its about winning any more, i mean an extra 498 xp for winning? Oh boy. In the days of halo 3 I remember assembling amazing grifball teams and going on huge win streaks. Now that grifball is going to be a permanent playlist (I believe I read that in the bulletin) the inclusion of CSR will certainly increase its replay value.

But lets look at halo reaches grifball. It was such an easy legitimate way to boost. I fell victim of it by getting onyx close quarters and boosted for at least 2 weekly challenges. At one point the grav hammer was my most used weapon. Shame on me. But I didnt care, if I WON. This playlist should be about winning! Thats the whole fun of it. Players need a reason to continuously score and not just go for kills. And right now without CSR, what do most players want? Xp.

Halo 3 Grifball - everybody trying to win = fun
Halo Reach Grifball - “who cares about winning? The longer this game goes the more credits. Hey guys, keep the ball and dont score”. = not fun.

So unless the monthly challenges stay as win X amount of matches, Grifball needs a better incentive to win, such as maybe 700xp to 1150xp for winning.

(And one thing that should be in every gametype is a time/win bonus, meaning the quicker your team wins, the bigger your bonus is)

I agree, even though im about to hit 130 soon. But it did wonder for me in reach. However, i didn’t always win cuz i was always paired up with the losing team. sighs

I feel you. Hopefully CSR changes that

^^ There’s no way of telling if csr will work, seeing that it’s not visible. I guess I’ll have to check everyone’s profile in my last game…

Anyways, agreed op. I prefer playing grifball to win. I don’t care about spawn killing, it’s boring and takes away from the game. I end things quickly.

Fun is subjective OP. and another thing, who cares, griffball is for messing around just like action sack.

I still dont get why CSR is only visible on waypoint
And I would totally go for csr 50 in grifball.

cause it causes people to obsess over boosting, finding ways to exploit the system, and ever as far (back in the day) to buy/sell accounts/higher ranks.

yeah some of those are pretty bad but i think there are other ways they could have gone about addressing those. if a visible rank makes people obsess over your game then why the hell not put it in? who cares, it’s a win-win right?

i’m sure there probably is more too it, i don’t fully understand it all

Yeah Reach Grifball was awful. I can’t count the amount of times I got put up against a full party who grabbed the ball and spawn trapped us. Absolutely ridiculous.

My connection isn’t very favourable for Grifball (when I and my opponent swing our hammers at the exact same time, my hit will never ever register), so I try to run with the ball and am pretty good at it (I make a point never to hog the ball snd run and jump and -Yoink!- for 10 minutes like most people do).

Didn’t care about what others did back in that day, and I still wont. As long as I’m having fun. What ever happened to ignoring those boosting lobby messages? It never bothered me. Visible rank is worth it imo.

Yeah i remember the boosters. But that was when halo was like what cod is now. Full of kids. Halo now is for the veterans and people who really enjoy the game… And reach noobs. From my experiences in halo 4 and Black ops 2, halo 4 game lobbies sound way more like an office party while Black ops 2 sounds like a kids bowling alley party.

I was at that halo 3 “bowling party” and had friends that wanted their lvl 50 in halo 3 this was back when I was probably 12. Hahaha

So what im saying is that halo 4 doesnt seem like it has that boosting crowd. We’re past that.
