Seriously though. The betrayal system needs to be addressed in grifball. Constantly being killed by teammates with ZERO enemies around. This has been a huge issue with me, and lots of other players around the world. It’s getting out of hand. Grifball which is easily the funniest arena playlist in the game is quickly becoming a hassle and a struggle just to stay in a game. Especially when I kill an enemy, and some -Yoink- player will boot me for betraying. I get it, betrayals happen every now and then. But when some little sh*t is running around drawing betrayals just to boot players is ridiculous
Yes betraying is bad in Griffball. Worst part is nobody thinks of not running in front of me then I get kicked because of poor team members. Friendly fire should be removed.
You’re right, removal of friendly fire at minimum
Friendly fire helps add to the hilarity. Most people want booting to be removed.
Try to create your own space. If people are too eager to kill the guy closer to you, then back off so that he doesn’t get you killed or you kill him. A former Grif leaguer taught me to “stay within your lane,” and it has really lessened betrayals on my behalf. Basically treat your space and others as a bubble and do not cross it. Keep doing that and you’ll get better at not betraying and in turn, your offense and defense will benefit.
So I say keep friendly fire on for the competitive aspect that does exist in Grifball. This can easily be applied to randoms.
If friendly fire was removed it would be possible to launch your team’s ball carrier halfway across the map with a hammer jump. However I notice this to be a problem as well as I’ve been booted and banned for accidentally killing team mates. They should have the option not pop up until you’ve been team killed around 5 times by the same person; or just remove the booting option entirely.

You say that like team-members can’t already do this. All it takes is a hit at the right angle. I’d rather have team-killing turned off. As for the gravity ‘effect’…should be a toggle that only effects enemy’s…this would easily solve the griff-ball ball carrier trick. The ban system is a joke in it’s current set-up in griffball. I can’t control what my team-mates do and it’s bad enough that the radar is a broken mess. If people want friendly fire that badly then they could easily play custom games because in it’s current state it’s barely playable in it’s current state.
I find betrayals annoying only if its happening non stop but other than that i don’t mind it
