Grifball banning - Outrageous

I know this has been mentioned before but the banning in Grifball for Halo 5 is ridiculous. I am always one of the top players with the most kills/KD ratio and or goals. The reason I have the most kills is b/c I use the hammer which does area damage…which is half of the game! I have NEVER intentionally killed a teammate yet I have been kicked/banned from games on multiple occasions. Other team mates run into me all the time, there are also pile ups at times and regardless of how careful you are you can still kill a team mate by mistake. The MAIN issue is that when a player gets the prompt as to wether or not to ban, it defaults to ‘okay’ rather than the ‘dismiss’ option. I think a lot of player unintentionally click ‘Okay’ just trying to get back to the game. Also the fact that it only takes 3 team kills to get prompted is also ridiculous for Grifball. I’ve been banned from so many games that have gone into overtime with 30sec left b/c of a third team kill, even though I’m the player with most kills and best KD ratio. This needs to be fixed. Each time you get banned the time gets longer and longer as well so I’m not waiting for a 24 hour ban to get lifted so I can play again.

The two solutions I recommended are easy fixes and really should be added. I consider myself a good Grifball player, yet I’m not allowed to play because of this outrageous system that is in place. I know there are other people out there that have complained about this so something needs to be done.

If you have the highest score every time that is most likely the result of you indiscriminately swinging your hammer even if your teammates have a better position. Your team is probably dead most of the time while you rack up kills/betrayals. I have no issue banning some people from Griffball for a few reasons. The first being that with the recent change, the boot option only comes up if you betray your teammates a TON. You have to do it so many times for that prompt to come up, and at that point you’re just careless. The second reason being that as a veteran player I can usually tell if the betrayal was necessary/incidental vs. just a greedy swing for a kill at the expense of your teammates. I use my best judgement.

I keep seeing these threads and they’re absurd. Grifball isn’t a license to just swing with your eyes closed. It requires teamwork, placement, patience, and a small amount of reasoning (when to swing/not).

What? If you are such a great player why are you accidentally betraying?

You are completely incorrect about the amount of times SHAMbazian. It’s exactly 3 times…no more, no less. As far as you trying to determine how exactly I play by my score is ridiculous. I am caution of where I swing, team mates run into to me on a frequent basis. If the other team is close to the goal you have three of your team mates all trying to prevent a goal, one of the three player will almost certainly kill a team mate by mistake. Plain and simple. There is a huge difference between intentionally killing a team mate and doing it by mistake while trying to prevent a goal. Once again it only take 3 team kills…not “a TON”.

And Matador you have literally no point. The main weapon in the game does area damage thus making it a much bigger possibility to accidentally kill a team mate.

The other main point of my thread is that you get defaulted to ‘okay’ the ban options making it very possible to mistakenly ban someone who is clearly contributing very positively to the game. If I see someone on my team doing well and I get the option to ban them I try to always choose dismiss, unless of course it pops up and I accidentally click okay.

Yeah its the stupid team mates to blame on this one honestly, 343i cant tell ether if it`s on purpose or accident and that annoys me.

I agree Fatsax. My 6 year old is LEARNING to play. He loves Grifball but gets banned after almost every round. He waits for CD then joins again. It’s a ridiculous thing to even have it. I can’t kill a teammate in warzone. With CoD you do not kill or get banned by teammates. Why is it in Arena???

Just use your motion tracker to avoid hitting teammates.

I think Booting is fine for Grifball but I dontt think the ban should be there. There are times when the person is awful and so I decide to boot them because all my other teammates are complaining the he betrayed them multiple times as well. Though I do believe most of the time it’s on accident, so I typically don’t boot in grifball. I think the ban needs to be removed, but booting should be left in.
