What is the last book that Grey Team was present in? I’d hope to see a new book or lore in general with them present in it or at least their status is updated. Thoughts and ideas about how they could be brought back to the surface/present lore?
“Envoy” was the most recent installment that included Gray Team. It takes place in 2558 I believe, which is pretty up to date with the present lore.
I believe Tobias Buckle (who’s been writing most the stories Grey Team go on), will be waiting until after Halo Infinite before making a new book. Which is honestly a smart thing to do, and I can’t wait to see what Grey Team do next. But to answer your question about their status, it was Active from what we last saw of them.

Tobias Buckell, not Buckle. And it’s not just him who’s waiting for Infinite, I have a feeling there will be no new books at all until after it releases. Hope I’m wrong though.

I think we will see at least one more book. I’m crossing my fingers for a sequel to Retribution, which I feel is sorely needed. While we wait for Infinite to expand the present day lore, there’s plenty of room to expand on previous years in the Halo Universe. But even if something like that doesn’t come out, I imagine we will get at least a comic as part of the promotional material for Infinite.

Let’s just hope that 343 keeps their word (which I believe they will) in that the book/comic of promotional material doesn’t need to be read to understand all the plot-points in Infinite.
