I remember in all the other Halo games, you’d throw a sticky, it’s would stick pretty easily and the guy would run into a group of his teammates and you’d get an overkill.
In Halo 4, however, it seems difficult enough to stick, but even when you do, the grenade seems to have next to know splash damage. I’ve tried with the grenade perk as well, but it seems to make a very small amount of difference.
Anyone else think grenades have become very under powered?
My sticky grenades have just gone right through players since halo 3. I figured it was lag but in halo 4, its ridiculous. I might go take video of how I just run right over grenades and they don’t kill me.
That is one thing I liked about reach. The grenades were not firecrackers.

To fix said issue they reduced the splash damage but introduced a perk to make the splash damage normal. They made it impossible to pick nades off of people unless you have the resupply perk to cut down on spam.
As for the sticking problem i feel you. I believe its a bug and not intentional.

Surely, for the sake of balancing spam, wouldn’t unlootable grenades be enough? I mean, there’s always a lag with Stickies, but this game feels like it isn’t lag, it’s just ridiculously difficult to land a stick.
I feel like I’m wasting my time using grenades altogether. Even small vehicles like mongooses and ghosts need at least two stickies to explode.

The damage wasn’t tweaked just blast radius. Vehicles might’ve gotten a health buff do to the paper built vehicles in reach.
Waaaaaaaaaay better than Reaches friggin nukes. I like the Halo 4 grenades.

Could not agree more, although Halo 3’s grenades seemed just right.
I do think they are pretty underpowered. Much of the time I see people just walking over grenades because it doesn’t matter unless they are standing on half a dozen of them. Even stickies don’t kill unless you actually connect with a person, and half the time the grenade seems to phase through people.
I had no problems with the grenades in Reach, in fact I couldn’t see what people were complaining about. However, I was not against a slight nerf. What we have in H4 did give me a small feeling of nostalgia, but only because they make me think of these!

Eh, not noticed too much. I never did like Grenade spam anyway, heh.
My one gripe is how woefully bad the Promethean grenades are. I mean, what is the actual point? Other than to try and intimidate people? I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone who isn’t afk get hurt by one of them…

I can’t hit moving vehicles, the grenade goes right through them.
There seems to be a 50/50 chance of just phasing through people altogether.
They seems to have the blast radius of a spit bubble.
A slightly larger spit bubble if giving up your fast reload perk for the grenade damage perk.
I remember Halo 3 grenades being amazing. Reach grenades were a little too OP, but if the spam is what people didn’t like, then the no-pick up would have fixed that.
They didn’t need to make them so weak.
I have had about double the amount of nade kills since I started using Explosives. It definitely makes a difference. I’m kind of happy nades are less prominent though. It forces people to rely on their shots more often
They seem fine to me, you just have to know how to use them.
Pulse grenades suck though. Nobody’s stupid enough to stay in its area of effect.
They’re fine to me. Nothing like the mini-nukes we saw in Halo: Reach.
