Grenades...they aren't overpowered, your tactics are underpowered

“Grenades are OP” seems to be a common complaint on both here and reddit. People act like grenade spam is new to Halo, but it isn’t. It’s been an integral part of map control since Halo CE. Well-chucked grenades will take chase out the sword camper, or the guy crouching in the corner with rockets, etc. The grenades are perfect, they don’t need to change, you do. It is easy to survive every kind of grenade encounter, be it fragmentation, plasma, spike, or dynamo. Here’s how:
*Strafe- Make a habit of sidestepping whenever somebody chucks a grenade your way. You don’t have to move far.
*Make use of cover: self-explanatory.
*Drop shield: if you have it, use it.
*slide/sprint- With these at your disposal, you have almost no excuse for letting yourself get blown up.

You can easily predict when somebody will chuck grenades at you: when they chase you into a room and you start camping, when you run around a corner in a narrow hallway, when you’re capturing a zone. What do you do? Prepare accordingly. Grab an overshield, drop shield, hide behind a rock, grab a booster to help with evasive maneuvers, etc. Grenades are easier than ever to evade thanks to all the maneuverability options available to you. So if you’re still getting shredded by them, then perhaps you should rethink your tactics or take a step outside and have a breather.

Grenade kills aren’t really common if we all just check the game stats after a game.

My sentiment is that they are broken. You could be on a step and the grenade hit one step lower and it essentially do no damage because you are higher than the grenade. There are flaws in grenade’s spherical blast radius. - it’s the same with Rocket blast damage as well.

The nade-shot kills (1 grenade + headshot) are rare from my experience as compared to earlier Halos (which were even then very inconsistent).

So I just think there could be fixes to how the spherical blast attacks the shields and health.

Nah, the grenades are inconsistent if anything. I can never tell when I’m comfortably at a distance to avoid the blast radius cause I’m always taking some type of damage, but when I throw the damn things, and the enemy is near the blast radius they get away scout free or not as damage as I would hope. Hell, they can be on top of it and not die.

H5 nades worked just fine. They were predictably. Why on earth did they changed them?! no one fcking asked them to…

Why do other people’s grenades kill me from a mile away but mine land at their feet and they walk it off?

I may have exaggerated slightly but you get the idea
