Title. I recently started playing doubles because I only have one friend left who semi-actively plays Halo 5, and the amount of grenade spam is horrid! Team Arena is pretty bad with grenade spamming, but doubles takes it to a whole new level. I have been 1 magnum shot away from killing someone who knows how many times, only to end up being instantly killed by the ridiculous amount of splash and damage grenades do. Splinters are even worse because they blow so quickly. What happened during balancing that could have lead to grenades being this op?
I mean that’s what the thrusters are for I guess. Anyway people like to spam or prenade spots in arena if they know what they are doing so GL

I get 1 thrust per like 3 grenades thrown lol.
You have grenades as well and they are part of the game so I can’t agree with you here. Smurfs ruin doubles.
Grenades ruin almost every playlist I’d argue.
Horrible blast radius for frags. Plasma grenades double as flashbangs. Splinter grenades arbitrarily decide when they want to kill people, not to mention a direct hit with one does not kill someone which baffles me. Too many spawns for them on any given map.
You figure that you can’t carry four of each grenade anymore like in previous games but when you have grenade pickups from dead bodies, stickies, and splinters, that’s a total of six grenades. If you end up finding a pile of dead bodies of players that didn’t use grenades you can literally stand on top of a stockpile and continuously throw grenades at a pretty quick pace. The behavior of players has changed so much since the latter of Reach’s cycle that some players will throw a grenade before they shoot their weapon even when in a direct confrontation with an opponent. Players rely on grenades way too much, and I haven’t even began to talk about this game’s physics when it comes to grenades.

Half of the time, I don’t get shot at all, the grenades just come in waves.

I’ve been having this problem as well on every gametype. I’ll shoot at someone, they run away, and spam grenades so much that I can’t escape them.

I agree we need more grenades. They should add the Spike and Incendiary grenades back in and let us have three of each.

Yeah if you want grenade spam play some H3 where you would have a guy with every grenade.

We don’t need a spike and incendiary grenade when we already have 2 other grenades that serve the exact same purposes as those two.

Actually spike grenades didn’t function the same as plasma grenades and incendiary grenades don’t function the same as splinter grenades. Besides more grenades means more fun.
