There is just too many grenades on every map. They spawn too fast, and you already spawn with 2 frags. I find myself chucking grenades just so I can pick up the ones in front of me because there is so many. I don’t think I’ve played a match yet where I felt like I should think about when I use my grenades because throwing them doesn’t have a consequence when I can get 4 more in less than 30 seconds. Am I the only one feeling this? How do we balance this out?
There range is also way to large. I can be standing ten feet away and still get killed.
The other problem is they detonate way faster than previous games which makes them much stronger. I feel like in most of my deaths I have taken grenade damage and maybe 40% of my deaths are from grenades. This is way higher than previous games where grenades were used more as an area denial tool rather than direct damage.

Granadas are a core pillar or what makes Halo, Halo. The placement and avoidance of such is a key ingredient of the Spartan gameplay. Map design is (or should) be based on the core pillars of what makes Halo great: Gun, Grenades, and Melee.
The other problem is there no friendly fire making it more of a spam fest
Grenades are def more plentiful in this halo imo. Also have to understand that were playing on the 4v4 maps closer quarters so thats a grenadiers haven. im def not a fan of how the plasma grenades sound this time around. Not satisfying. Think as for the detonation time you could maybe add like .5s to the timers since theyre so plentiful and more often than not theyre yeeted at the begin of rounds bc you can walk 2ft and find another stack. Maybe just make them spawn less often or make them spawn at further locations than the hot spots. again this is on the smaller maps so the grenades could be trash on the bigger maps. as for the radius and dmg… idk i feel the dmg is where its supposed to be and the explosion radius should be decently fair sized… it is a grenade after all…from the future lol. id be keen to have them add in flash grenades honestly or even smoke but those would def need to be less plentiful. just spitball ideas. if they add in a hardcore mode which i can only assume they will at some stage, then the grenades would be used less often or more carefully in that playlist.

It definitely feels like the tech test has been more spam nade heavy than I’d hope the normal multiplayer gameplay to be. Almost feels like starting grenade count should be reduced down to two instead of one. And as you mentioned, the respawn timer on nades should be much longer.
I know no one will agree, because you always have gotten grenades, but on these size maps. You probably shouldn’t spawn with them IMO. You should have to find them.

Look Halo has always been grenade spam its always been a thing. Its just right now People are throwing caution to the wind its a flight and people aren’t fussed like they would be in same ranked.
I think it’s less about how many (H2 had you holding 8) and more so the splash they have.
In my experience it seemed that the grenades had more of a blast radius than the rocket. Unless I’m complete trash with rockets now which I don’t think I am.
If they were to change anything I’d definitely want a smaller blast and possibly not being able to pick up nades from dead bodies. Only spawn and finding them on the map. Because like a lot of people said, nade central over here.
I find myself without grenades more often than not. I guess that means I’m one of the spammers?

If anything, they could just have you spawn with 1 frag instead of 2. That would ease peoples’ concerns. I think it’s fine tho tbh

Lol… I’m not even going to say anything else here… is this your first Halo out of curiosity?
Nades wouldn’t be a problem if the maps were not built to have an angle to land one in every cover spot spot
Friendly fire being disabled is part of what’s facilitating such reckless grenade spam imo.
I’ve just come to the realization that I’ve never thought about going to the Nade respawn area to pick them up in any of the past Halos. I do think that some of this frustration stems from the fact that time between fights is shortened quite a bit, so there’s less time to get rid of grenades. And, if your opponent picks them up off your dead body too, it will become pretty spammy.
As far as the blast effectiveness, grenades should strictly drop shields or kill if shields are dropped. At some point in this franchise, that concept was lost. They should be used as support to your weapons or to finish off the kill that got away.
