Just spent the last couple hours playing some matchmaking with some friends and I just wanted to express my concern over the amount of grenade spam we encountered…
I am not sure which playlists have been limited to one-grenade at the initial spawn, but it really feels like it should be the standard.
Anyways, just a concern that I wanted to voice while it’s fresh in my mind.
Have a good night guys!

fix’d
fuse time increase, please!
Urza, How did I know you would Fix that. lmao
Something needs to be done about them. I don’t see the idea behind making the radius larger. You move slower and you don’t jump as high. It doesn’t make sense to increase the radius when they are even harder to avoid.
I kinda agree. One of the reasons I enjoy Arena is because it has 1 grenade starts.
To be honest grenade spamming is annoying but it’s not a viable strategy meaning it wont win you the game just get a lucky kill every now and then plus it’s fairly easily dodged and when people grenade spam in your LOS it gives you time to shoot them while they can’t shoot back.
Also with 2 grenade if I know there is a group of people all together around a corner I can throw 2 grenades and kill them without risking them all shooting at me. Sure I could throw one and headshot them but then I have to be able to choose my target in a bunch of people pulling my aim assist and them shooting back might not even get a kill.
I’m sure the good people at 343 know better than most of us on how the grenades should work in Reach.

The problem isn’t how grenades operate. The problem is that players are spawning with two grenades and that everything runs smoother when limited to one.
You have to decide if you want to toss it, or save it.
As another member said above, he has to toss it and work out a headshot in the confusion as opposed to tossing two grenades and walking away with a triple kill.
It isn’t a huge problem, but it’s something that I wanted to bring up for discussion.
I agree with expectantly for the Beta playlist. They need either a longer fuse or the blast radius needs to be cut down. Also giving player only one grenade will help a lot.
It freaking annoying to play half the time. When you run into an area and next thing you know. You have 6 grenades exploding around you…

True. Grenade spam isn’t much of a problem. In fact, there’s more nade spam in Halo 3 than in Reach. Halo 1 (home of the real mini-nuke) and 2 both allowed players to carry up to 8 grenades each. If you think Reach has grenade spam you ain’t seen nothing.
The nade ‘spam’ in Reach is easily avoidable. You just need to know where the hotspots are.
Because of the slow movement speed, low jump height, huge blast radius, and short fuse times, the grenades are OP. It’s even worse because we spawn with two! It’s like Bungie made them Power Weapons! Honestly, everytime I encounter an enemy, his first reaction is to spam a grenade. And I know I’m not getting away. Hell, one time I swear I had six grenades tossed at me at once! Something needs to be done!
I agree, grenades are too powerful as they stand. I’d say either increase movment speed and jump to compensate to make it easier to get away from grenades or just decrease the damage or blast radius. Either way something needs to be done, grenades how they stand now unbalance the sandbox horribly.

LOL no.
Why do you think there are Matchmaking forums with feedback threads? Why do you think they are constantly looking for player input?
I am 100% behind this.
While x2 nade starts have always been in halo games, reach nades are a little… OP.
Well, really OP for nades.
343 needs to take all game modes to 1 nade start, and while theyre at it, take nades out of team snipers.
