Grenade throwing

Hay 343 why can we throw grenades like grenades, if I pull the pin I’m holding it for a certain length of time I’ll blow up if I want to suicide, also if I hold the trigger the further I throw or that i can drop it for short trigger release. What do you think??

No, grenades have always been just instantly thrown in Halo.

I think instant off hand grenade throws are just a given staple of Halo. But it’s not like it can’t be improved either, it can.

What if, if you simply tapped the left trigger, it threw as it always did. OR, you could HOLD the trigger. When you did, you could hold it for as long as you want (even suicide with it), and the arc of your throw would be shown to you. That’d be cool.

None of this because it would bring more randomness to the randomness.

hahaha are you crazy??

Lol, people are already complaining about the similarities to Call of Duty. I can’t imagine if they let you cook grenades how people would complain. Even if it makes more sense than the Halo standard of bouncing frag grenades by your feet…

Because the grenades aren’t on a timer. They are impact based and blow up a second after hitting the ground. I think I takes more skill to throw it that way instead of having it blow up on command you actually have to consider time and angles.

Don’t fix things that aren’t broken.

I could see people using the cocked grenade tactic to suicide and get a kill from the grave against people with swords/shotguns. Its easy enough now for people to run up, tag me with a sticky, and jump away.

You know its not the pin being pulled that starts the reation in the grenades detenator, its the fly off spoon, the pin just holds that in, you can pull and replace the pin all you like as long as you don’t let go of the spoon.

And spawn an army of players charging with granades just like suicide Grunts?! No, thanks I don’t want cookable grenades like in Call of Duty or trajectory indicators like in Gears of War. Fast grenade throwing make it more spontaneous. The problem I have with granades is constant spamming of one small area, that’s how I usually die of them.

this X1000

Sorry to get picky, but a frag grenade doesn’t work that way. There’s a small throw-away lever on it which the pin holds in place. You can pull the pin and hold it all day (in real life), it’s not until the lever is released, preferably by throwing it away from the body, that it’s armed with a five-second (or 3 perhaps) delay until detonation.

I get what you are saying though.

halo grenades dont have pins, they are button detonators. the grenade detonates a few seconds after it hits a surface, as this is future thats how they designed the grenades.

Grenades in Halo have no pins. It’s the 26th century.

Well, in Halo it’s unnecessary. On their grenades, a button primes the grenade. And the simple throw of the grenade has always been Halo’s thing.

If I have to cook grenades on Halo I’m done playing this game, dont need to fix something that isnt broken. Grenades throws still take a certain amount of skill

Why don’t you just leave it alone…? Instead of suggesting a stupid idea.
