Grenade SpamAopyloces

Okay I understand that grenade spaming has been a real issue with HALO for years, and even more so in HALO:REACH, but the way 343i has responded to it is making me a bit skeptical, mainly cause they also have a suport upgrade that allows you to pick up the grenades your enimes and allys drop when killed, where as everyone else can’t, thats a huge advantage allowing you to nade spam while others can’t, is not really stoping nade spaming but making it more probmatic.

Grenades are also somewhat weaker than Reach’s. Having a shorter blast radius, and higher movement speed makes them less of a juggernaut in the game. And grenade spam was only really bad in Halo CE and Halo Reach, Halo 2 and 3 grenades were actually fairly difficult to land hits with, and when someone spammed, you just laughed and dodged while gunning them down.

My only problem with grenade spamming in Reach was because the grenades were like mini-nukes. They are not that bad in 2 or 3. So if the grenades are anything like 2 or 3, I’ll be fine with nade spamming.

Honestly, I’ve never noticed “grenade spam” unless me or my team were CAMPING SOMEWHERE. You stay on the move, big shocker, you don’t get grenade spammed. I know, freakin’ weird, isn’t it?

I suppose it could come into play in gametypes like “King of the Hill”… But if you play those with a team, honestly your team should be on the outside of the hill taking care of spammers before they ever throw the grenade. Also, isn’t that why we ended up with things like Drop Shield and Armor Lock to begin with? Make us safe from the spammers?

Anyway, I have no real issue with the way they’re setting it up now.

Right now, it looks like there are very few ways to obtain new grenades. Equip that perk thing to carry an extra… Equip the other perk thing so you can pick up 'nades off of corpses (let’s assume one per corpse, and if the corpse has already been raided by a different player you get jack).

Oh, and we have some kind of perk that makes grenade explosions BIGGER… But makes them WEAKER.

You seem to start with ONE grenade in most playlists, so being able to pick up more would be a lifesaver against campers. Sometimes grenades randomly drop in as Infinity Ordnance so you can resupply or pick up more… Those are on some kind of timer… I assume a 30-60 second timer.

Honestly, I’m not entirely sure “grenade spam” will exist to begin with in the new one. It might to some degree, but it certainly won’t be any worse than what we’re already used to. I say “bring it on!”

I just worry how the heck I’m going to get more ammo for my guns. Can we still raid dropped weapons off of corpses even though we can’t get grenades that way without a perk?

Yeah, I liked the “Dodgeball” varient in Halo Reach. Throwing sticky grenades for points was a ton of fun.
