I dig most of the multiplayer in this game, and I’m not much a multiplayer person. That’s a testament to how solid arena and war zone are. But has anyone else’s multiplayer play style changed (from pervious Halo multiplayer experiences) due to the game being such a massive grenade fest that this game has turned into?
Yeah, hopping on the back of a gungoose used to be a death sentence. Now I can go out spamming the unlimited grenades perk it has! Thanks ONI!
Wouldn’t say it changed because of the grenades alone, but they are quite a bit more powerful to fit in this game’s sandbox. I would say there’s simply just too many available.

The only place where I’ve seen grenade spamming to be a real issue is Warzone Assault since it forces both teams to fight through one or two doorways. It’s a mess…
Halo has always been grenade heavy, though. It’s annoying but players have managed thus far.
I think H5 has way more ways to avoid grenades than previous versions so I think its actually less of an issue than previous versions.
The grenade fest is a result of the map design. Everything is hallways and long pathways.
Halo’s 4 vs 4 on small maps have always been a fragfest. What has changed my playstyle is the horrible change to radar. I can’t tell you how many times I have gotten killed because I stepped around the corner and bam somebody is camping and I die. So now I approach every open area slowly with cautionlike I’m crossing a busy highway intersection I look both ways multiple times. It’s my understanding they changed the radar to encourage up close battles. But if anything Its slowed the game down making battle worse and encouraged camping. People find a corner of the map and stay there and let players come to them.
who need to shoot when you just throw grenade and every dead Spartan’s grenade?

This is a good point. I thought it would be alot worse with the quicker deaths and people have 6 grenades. But I do not seem to die that often. Most are from randoms I dont see, but the throw grenade at your dying body and getting a From the Grave on me is not happening as much as previous games thanks to the boost ability.
Anyone get the Nade shot medal lol
If you respect the grenades the grenades will respect you. Be one with the grenades and the grenades will be one with you. Grenades are love, grenades are life.

I agree with this. I don’t think anything has changed as far as Halo 'nade spamming goes, that’s just Halo and has always been Halo. I don’t think grenades are too powerful though. If you have full shields, they don’t kill you, but do knock out your shields. I think they are just too common. I would like it if players only started with one grenade and either none spawn on the map or you don’t drop them when you die so other players pick them up. I’d be interested to see how that would play out.
However, the only time I use boost is when someone throws a grenade at me. So I guess there’s a balance there. Boost allows you to dodge grenades half the time.
grenades everywhere
Grenades seem to be very Reach-like to compensate for the added mobility. I think I just got too reliant on the grenade indicator.

I’m glad that is no longer a part of the game, honestly. lol
Grenades have always been a big part of Halo multiplayer. I quite like getting that perfect nadeshot around a corner so i don’t usually spam mine unless i know there’s a decent chance i’ll get a kill

You could have a 50m radar and it wouldnt stop the corner kills because theyre most likely crouching.
yea, grenades should strictly limited to 1 nade per life like in Breakout.

I’m used to it since I habitually played max ticket Operation Metro in Battlefield. So have so much shell shock I barely notice the frag spam.
