I don’t think you could ever set this, but, in past games, you could see all collected choices on the HUD. Infinite only shows the current one active. Hopefully, this will be changed.
He probably means sticky kills. There were a couple maps in Halo 2 and a map in Halo 3 where stickys were the maps default starting grenade which is what you might be thinking of
That was Halo 4. You could choose Frags, Plasma, or Promethean grenades, as part of your loadout. I also always used Plasma grenades, because I love landing sticks.
Halo 3 also had a couple maps that if it was a Covenant themed map, you started with Plasma grenades.
This was in Halo 4. No other Halo game let you select your grenade in matchmaking, either offering a list of choices which don’t really offer differing grenade types on spawn.
And no, I don’t want to see grenade selection ever again. If starting with Plasma was already bad enough for Halo 4’s gameplay cycle, Infinite has the Dynamo grenade which exists only to make people not have fun.
Talking about matchmaking here, where you matchmake with other players. Unless the mode has a predetermined rule set, you more or less have no choice in choosing your starting nade.
Have they updated it, so you can just “scroll through” your available grenades (and equipment) in campaign? Having to remember the convoluted “sub menu” approach is so annoying…
