Grenade range is OP and desynch is only making it worse

  1. So I just wanted to raise this issue about grenades and their range. In their current state they are too bouncy and their range is too op in my opinion even when backing away from grenades or anticipating them they always managed to do a little more than a BR burst to me.
  2. I think desynch is making this issue worse as the game seems to believe sometimes I am right next to the grenade when in fact I have been moving away from the grenade leaving me open to a headshot kill.
  • I think something needs to be done to nerf the grenade radius and reward something other than just nade spam until desynch is fixed because in their current state it is just making the game not fun to play.

That’s Nice :+1:
Grenades aren’t going to change though, just so you know. This is how grenades functioned in every Halo. The don’t fix what ain’t broken deal.

They just need to focus on lag/dsync.

So nades have been taking full shields off when people go behind a wall what world are you living in bro :joy:?

I get killed by grenades just as much or more than gunfire. I think making grenades a bit more rare on the map could be a good thing or giving grenades a cool down before you can use them again, make you think before using them. As it is now I can hastily throw grenades with the confidence that I can pick more up almost immediately, so spamming grenades is a thing. OR just bring back friendly fire.

For comp it’s the same thing too every1 spams nades I guess since 343 didn’t intend for desynch to be a thing they thought nades were going to be less op and hence why they have more of them on the map. But I 100% agree I don’t think nade pickups should be as common

I wish my grenades had OP range. Rather then blowing up inches away and dealing zero damage.

That’s also an issue with desynching it’s probably because the server thinks that guy a way behind your nade

Halo gameplay is built on weapons, grenades, and melee. There is nothing wrong with Infinites grenades. They are just like every other Halo except there physics allow them to bounce further.

That’s exactly the issue.

They aren’t op when desync renders them useless

Happens at the very end of the video. Two shots with br. Grenades blow’s up under him and nothing.

Just gonna leave this here.

Totally agree btw.

The grenades feel more random than OP. Sometimes they’re a mini nuke, and sometimes they do barely any damage.

Also is it me or does it seem like grenades you throw after death do a speck of damage even if the enemy is RIGHT on top of one? Is this intended?

If friendly fire wasn’t on you’d see grenades less.

But projectiles tend to be deleted when you die for, some reason.

and sometimes grenades… just don’t go off.

Naw, these are h5 grenades, which were designed around essentially being a quicktime event of choosing which way to dodge with thrust.

Turning off Friendly fire was such a mistake for social.

Especially when there is no collision, often I’ll be mid gunfight then a teammate will run through me, and block all my shots to attempt to steal a kill.

It’s just annoying, I’m tired of inconsiderate players running through me as I try to shoot a rocket, throw a grenade or just finish a gunfight and getting me killed.

So what your saying is you want those fake … grenades from Halo 3 where the blast radios is similar to a water balloon. Mmm :smirk: ah NO absolutely not. I don’t know if you ever seen a grenade explosion before but no grenade should ever have the radios of a water balloon. Especially in a war 200 years in the future. Halo already doesn’t make a bit of since as it is by having Plasma and Hardlight Weapons weaker then human weapons and now you want to make it worse.

Modern game design BS is the reason why.
I really hate this feature that FPS games started to implement in the mid 2010s.

Take a look at CoD WWII. In that game, the M500 tends to one-shot people. But when you are in a match and everyone is running around with the M500 and even though you both pull the trigger at just about the same time so much so that your gunshot sounds are just one or two frames off from being in-sync, one will die and the other will live.

This is because the animation, sound-cue, and the projectile spawning doesn’t occur at once anymore in some games.
So even though I clearly heard two shots and thus we should both be dead, only one of us died, the other person is alive without a scratch, and only one team got a point. And then immediately after they tend to get another point as they blast at one of my teammates.

Trading is now SO RARE in videogames because both projectiles have to spawn at just the right time so that both shots land within the same nanosecond, WHILE ALSO the server has to be just in sync with both player’s ping to register both shots as landing at the same time.
Have I gotten a draw before in Rainbow Six Siege for example when there are just two of us left and we both kill each other? Yes.
But to be frank, there should be more times you trade in the game, but because one bullet landed first and got the kill; the other one despawns for some BS reason.

Developers NEED TO STOP DOING THIS BS!!!

The nades were perfect in Halo 3 you could dodge them if you anticipated them in Infinite they are just beyond broken with the insane bouncing they do. You can have stronger nades for the campaign if you want realism but for the multiplayer they just suck.

While on the topic of grenades, they really should use better effects -at least for the frag grenades- because the current ones are lame. The effect should last longer, produce smoke that doesn’t disappear after one sec, and leave the ground scorched for at least half a second.

Speaking on the that topic, It’s really hard to see and hear a flying grenade in this game too.

I’ve never been so confused about grenades in halo, every previous halo has made the grenades very very obvious, and easily seen and hear.

The yellow glow is almost nonexistent it seems and they’re way too quiet to be detected in gunfights a lot.
This makes them hard to track when they’re off screen and when you realize they’re there it is already too late.
