Grenade Jumping is Dead (Tech Preview)

Playing around with grenades in the preview they seem to have almost no physics related functions. Attempting many grenade jumps revealed they will give you an incredibly slight boost if timed correctly, but only if performed exactly right. They don’t seem to push back on your character unless you are directly above them and in upward motion. Halo has always been a physics based shooter and this is a very odd change to make to something so integral to Halo’s signature gameplay.
Will the Gravity Hammer and Brute Shot replacements also have no impact on player movement? If so the depth these weapons used to have will be gone and they’ll do little more than deal extra damage. Let us do grenade jumps, and boost jumps with the gravity hammer. It’s the right thing to do.

Most of the physics based elements of the game have been redirected into the equipment and I personally don’t see that as a bad thing.

in the past though everything was physics based. You didn’t have to guess if something would react to gravity because that was the default. Now I toss a grenade at a barrel and maybe nothing happens.

Well… heres the thing…

1: Increasing Shield and Health bar hit points to accomendate for the damage and force the grenades do so you can nade jump

OR

2: Lesser the grenade damage, but that one will risk making grenades near useless.

3: This one is the worst, lower Shield and Health hitpoints even more. Yeah, horrible. We are SUPERSOLDIERS, we should take a reasonable beating. Different weapons should by their damage etc decide if we as target are mere glass cannons or brick walls depending on damage effects/ projectiles/ beams etc.

Damage doesn’t need to be adjusted at all. The grenades obliterate shields just like in the past. The difference is now they do not push you in any direction.
We had grenade jumps for 5 games. Removing them only lessens the possible gameplay scenarios. There is no upside to their absence.

Ah… solution. Kinda obvious!

Same for the Gravity Hammer shown in footage.

Grenades and Gravity Hammers need their " force " and " velocity " multiplier to be much higher!

There, possible solution! Coffeine does woooonders!
