Grenade Hit Markers Confirmed in MP

At 2:56 in the multiplayer overview a plasma grenade explosion kills a player and hit markers clearly flash. I like hit markers on guns, but not a fan of “feeling” around corners with grenades. Oddly enough throwing fusion coils doesn’t trigger hit markers as later in the trailer the player flings one with direct a impact and no markers. IIRC there were fusion coil hit markers in H2A.

Additionally at 3:48 a frag explodes without killing the opposing player and hit markers flash.

Agree. You can see the grenade hit marker in the Multiplayer Overview at 3:48. It’s in-between the shotgun hit markers. Easier to see if it’s slowed down to 0.25 speed.

Boooo. I don’t think me nading a blind corner should inform me I actually hit a player.

Hmmmmm… Bummer. Definitely not a fan of it either.

In the first clip I would say that it could have just been cause the nade resulted in a kill so you got that feedback regardless since you’d see the kill feed anyway,

But the second definitely hit marks based on the nade hitting the leg.

I could be optimistic and say perhaps it’s because the player has line of sight on both so you get it that way but I doubt it.

We’ll just have to wait and see but I’m not a fan of this either. Hit markers on weapons is fine IMO but for explosives or anything that does splash damage, I don’t think it should have just because it allows you to probe blindly.

Just give feedback when test flighting starts and we may be able to influence the change.

I don’t like hit markers in Halo full stop.

It’s important in other games as you are literally shooting people through walls.

Being able to put the feelers out with grenades makes me sad, although grenades look like they can’t be stacked which also makes me very sad.

Aww. Hit markers work for guns, but for grenades, hit markers should not show unless its a confirmed kill.

Hopefully they listen to us and change that. Have hit markers if you literally hit someone physically with the grenade maybe, but not the explosion.

How do we not know if it’s just a kill hit marker?

I think hit markers should be a thing for guns in MP, they aren’t necessary for Campaign so I’d like an option to turn them off and as far as grenades go I’d prefer it if they didn’t give us markers.

There is a separate kill marker that flashes at the center of the reticule to denote a kill as well as other footage that demonstrates hit markers applying to grenades without killing the player.

Those chirps are so annoying.

Let’s hope this changes before launch. This totally messes with my play style. I can hide from enemies in halo 3 because I just don’t move even if a nade takes my health if I’m hiding. In halo 5, they always realize I have no health left and they scoot in and kill me.
