No jersey shore pun intended, But whats up with the (frag) grenades? not really complaining but they seem a lot more effective and annoying compared to the other halo’s
maybe Its just me but does it have an increased blast radius?
or maybe they skid off more?
More of a question really then a complaint, I want to know how to use it more effectively and be able to dodge it better.
its quite annoying though in maps like abandon and adrift when teams spam corners with the nades… I really do hate frag nades in Adrift, with its tight hallways, just screams nade
If you ask me, grenades are the weakest that they have ever been. Reduced damage and radius, without the related perks they are useless. Tack on the grenade indicator and it’s even harder to get kills with them.
I dont understand the hate for grenades. Reach did mini nukes, but all the other games they were perfect. I feel like grenades are very core to Halo. No other game implements grenades like Halo does, but it seems like alot of people still think grenades are too powerful?
Pulse grenade is the worst grenade in Halo. Stickies will almost never kill you unless stuck. And frag damage has been cut pretty much in half and have indicators! The only way to make grenades weaker is to get rid of them.
You would of hated Halo 2. Not only did they have pretty powerful grenades, you had 4 frags and 4 sticks pretty much at all times.

I’ve played every halo and I love every halo (halo 4 the least) but it just seems like the grenades skid more and “magically” hit me every time and team grenade spamming seems more effective in this game, Maybe I should just stop sprinting think I might revert to recon stick
What makes the grenades so effective in this game is not the damage itself, but the map layouts primarily the medium to small maps.
Take the Majestic Map Pack for example.
Landfall- Got enough small rooms? Apparently not, so we need more! Got enough crates and vehicles outside? Apparently not, so we need more! Got enough hallway and walkways corners? Apparently not, so we need more! All this attribute to the ability to easily lay in a clusterluck amount of skill-less grenades.
Skyline- Got enough walls? Apparently not, so we need more! Apparently not, so we need more! Got enough hallway and walkways corners? Apparently not, so we need more! Got enough space to move around without grenades Bungie jumping around? No? It’s alright because you don’t need any.
Oh did I forget? These grenades carry the same fundamental functionality as Reach grenades do where unused grenades on the floor if left unpicked, they will trigger combo explosions laid by other live grenades.
Maps like Adrift, Solace, Abandoned, and Meltdown are just begging for maximum grenade starts. It doesn’t take much need for aim or skill to realize grenades go boom when a cluster of them are thrown in a tight area.
Grenades have been the weakest? That’s a flat lie considering you can blow up vehicles (with the exception for the Mantis) with grenades easily versus Halo 2 and Halo 3. If grenades are the weakest in this game, that does not explain the Kamikaze Plasma Grenade Artisans I encounter nine out of the ten matches I play regularly.
We can’t forget out the support package too, the Explosive perk that is added in Team Throwdown that some claim to “not increase damage” of the grenades. Which is a blatant joke. The fact that two grenade starts is a loadout weapon is a sin.
