Can we do something about Splinter and Plasma grenade expert armor mods? They give you +1 of the respective grenade and increase their carrying capacity (Which is of dubious use in Warzone to begin with since the AI that carry them only show up a few times and in specific places), but that’s it. Starting with ONE plasma grenade when I could be invisible on radar when walking or have reduced EMP duration? And an Ultra Rare at that? No thanks. If anything it should replace your starting two frags with two of their respective grenade types.
ske7ch had that topic about REQ level suggestions, but it didn’t feel appropriate to post this in that since it’s not about the LEVELS but more that the Plasma Grenade expert mod is useless, especially for its rarity. Splinter Grenade Expert is fairly good, but I usually only use it in WZA - and Explosives tends to be better overall because of the damage boost/resistance it offers.

Since Warzone and REQs in general have been getting tweaks now and then, maybe later on they’ll be looked at. The Pool of Radiance supposedly received a buff at some point, but I still find it to be vastly inferior to the Light of Urs. Uber-slow reload speed and seemingly moderate damage, not very good for an Ultra Rare tier 3.
Back on Armor Mods, the Increased Strength and ground pound mods don’t seem to be all that useful either. The former’s good if you expect to spartan charge a lot and/or don’t have Bayonets yet (Or just aren’t using them in favor of something else), but I just don’t see the point of the latter. It might be good for Spire/Monument defenders on Apex 7 and Noctus, but even then it’s a pretty niche use when things like Reflex Enhancer, Advanced Sensors, Wheelman, and Upgraded Thrusters are useful in more situations.
I mainly rotate between extra shields, speed boost or wheelman. Never tried the grenade mods but hearing they only give one is a turnoff, plus I know what people mean when the AI rarely drop their own grenades, I just stick to the shield poppers(frags). Not much of a melee guy so I never touch strength either and to me radars are pointless(not in the sense that they’re useless, just in the sense I turn and look around a lot to really never warrant a waste for it when I can get more use out of my top 3) so I’ve always ignored it.

Yeah, which makes that Plasma Grenade one especially pointless. Triply so if you’re playing WZA since only Marine AI’s spawn in that, and Explosives is much better. At least the Splinter expert is somewhat useful there…
Advanced Sensors’s best highlight for me is being able to see your radar when scoped (only really a bonus if you’re using a sniper weapon) and being invisible on enemy radars when walking. So I don’t have to crouch-walk everywhere.
Only good things about these armor mods is they help make Plasma and Splinter kills easier and faster. Still use the Splinter if there is a troblesome Mantis on the powl.

I got most of my Plasma Grenade kills in Arena, since a number of maps actually have Plasma Grenades on them and there’s less huge open space like in WZ. Splinter Grenade expert still has an actual use, like you pointed out with heavy vehicles. Still wish it’d give you two and just replace your existing grenades on spawn… But even then, its use is temporary. Once you use those grenades, that’s it. Bonus doesn’t stick around like Explosives and the other mods.
Surely they are just mods people put on when they die and they change immediately? One extra grenade can be all it takes, especially splinters for the emp effect and ease of kill when thrown in a doorway.

That’s what I usually do. Switch to Splinter when dead, then change into something useful. Since unlike the extra ammo from Patrol Case, that grenade sticks around after you change.

Yes it does. Patrol case is very useful for FF, otherwise I don’t really use it.

Here’s a fun tip regarding the Fuel Rod variants (sorry for going off-topic):
If you have a red reticle focused on a flying vehicle, the Light of Urs / Pool of Radiance will lock onto a Banshee / Wasp / Phaeton with devastating results. You’ll have to pay close attention to the audio cues as no lock-on diamond will appear (I think).
