I’m sure you will all agree that having a green screen in Halo is great, and it really shows 343 still care about the machinima community. But there is a small problem. It’s not exactly compatible with the (far superior in my opinion) green visor, as the wearers face would just be removed in editing.
Ok, so how do we improve? I have a solution. In the next map pack, include BOTH the green screen AND a new, blue screen. Exactly like the green screen we have now, only blue. Based on my Halo 2 modding experience (long time ago) it really wouldn’t be difficult to include in a new map at all.
While we’re at it, why not include a black screen, or a white screen, so you can recreate that scene from the Matrix. Just imagine the potential for the “Construct remake” jokes.
TL;DR: In a future map, include green, blue, and other colour screens.
Pros:
- More machinima options, such as green visors
- More incentive to buy new maps
Cons:
- There are no cons
Of course we could always make our own blue screen, thanks to the miracle of… MOVIE MAGIC!!
…You honestly wanna run blue screen?

Yep.
It’s really rough though. I think it would be nice though. If you do videos let me know I’d help out.
Perhaps being able to change the colour of the screen is a good idea.
But before they do that they need to fix a couple of errors with Machinimaking in Halo 4.
- Keep gun lowered when running and turning like the other Halo games
- When in free cam, remove announcers voice and text in the bottom left corner of who you’ve just killed and killed by.
These two things for starters would help more IMO.
Thanks

I think that what we really need is a pink screen. Then you can have all your pretty green superiority pictures, and a -Yoink!- pink hue to cut them out of. That and blue smells funny.
Vote pink not stink!

One of my favourite RT videos! And it kind of illustrates my point about the green visor.
Back to the blue screen… when halo 4 first came out, there was a forge map on Longbow, where someone had built a green screen using shield doors, lights and what I can only assume was witchcraft. It was very impressive, but not exactly as easy as the forge island one. However, one benefit was that you could change the colour, to get green, blue and even purple screens, and it worked quite well.
I totally forgot about how you could change the colour of items in forge. Maybe that could be implemented instead of having separate items?
