Let me start with one thing, Halo Infinite is a free to play game and 343i needs to make money, as for them being a business. Battlepasses? Sold Cosmetics even? I’m totally fine with. as long as it’s new cosmetics
Now what do I mean by NEW cosmetics? I mean cosmetics that weren’t in previous games. The reach armor being split in half to be sold back to us? Disgusting. Armor Coatings Launching with 10 base game colors is absolutely disgraceful.
I have spent alot of money on the battepass and micros already, and let me remind you of what you get from Halo Reach, armors that are over 11 years old at this point.
Armor Pieces
~Helmets (10/18)
~Visors (6/5) -missing silver but more colors.
~Chests (9/14) -not including robot arm variants, bringing totals to "“17"”
~Shoulders (5/13)
~Gloves (2/2) new to infinite
~Wrists (4/4)
~Utilities (2/5)
~Knees (2/3)
~Armor Effects (2/6) In reality 1/6 because one is new to infinite
So even through the battepass you get a total of
(37/68) of the original Halo Reach ARMOR pieces [54%]
Not including armor color.
Armor Colors
30 colors. Primary and Secondary. 30 Choices by 30 Choices.
Halo Reach Launched with 900 color combinations.
Infinite you get 10 to start with. 10 locked colors. 17 if you pay for the battlepass. 52 times fewer options.
Halo Infinite Reach armor cusomization is
10x6x9x5x2x2x4x2x2x2x17= 7,344,00 Combinations
Halo Reach 2011 armor customization
18x5x14x2x4x5x3x900= 136,080,000 Combinations
I Know this may sound insane, but maybe give us tabs of color options? Example: Sort the 900 options you took from us into tabs and sub tabs for the classic colors. Main>Red>Shades>Then the 30 options of the selected red of 3 with the seconary of the classic 30 color system.
In the Main tab is where you could go absolutely bananas with skins that people would WANT to buy, but not feel forced to buy. Past the 10 main tabs of colors you could have your, neon green shader, your magenta, your limited time mcdonalds promotion, charity skins, gold, silver, camo, dev designed and curated beauty. You guys at 343 have amazing artists. Let THEM run wild, but don’t say millions of options on the technicality of multiplication, its deception and its honestly gross to pretend that its not a nickel of the dollar we used to have access to. I would absolutely spend a few bucks a paycheck on a new skin of the week, but after spending my money and seeing how miniscule my options really are, I think I’ll end up waiting for change.
TLDR:
Halo infinite may legally have “millions of ways to make your spartan look”
But it’s still a pitiful 5.39% of what we had over a decade ago.
