Aside from the fact teammates can still steal assassinations (a topic for another thread), I really have to hand it to 343i.
The assassinations in this game are superb. I love watching my Spartan swing laps around somebody else with the Spin Cycle one game, and then the next game giving them the knee to the head with another assassination. Though I only have a quarter of the assassinations, I went and looked them all up on Youtube…
…Only to see the attention and care given to them in slow motion. Seriously, if you have yet to, check out all of the assassinations in slow motion! You really get a sense of martial skill and execution that the Spartans commit with each animation. Seriously, the small details are fantastic to observe.

Lol I honestly thought this was going to be a hate thread, I completely agree 343 did a great job on assassinations. Love the toggle option as well.

I prefer the good old backsmack myself, but the assassinations are cool.
Of the ones I’ve unlocked, “back breaker” is definitely my favorite.

My interesting idea for a new assassination they should add
I was feeling great after getting a triple kill solo defending a base in ARC the other day just to be lifted by the ankle and have my head stamped into the ground. Actually had to applaud that one.

I agree, I love the new and varied assassinations. A personal favourite is ‘Shove it’. Kneeing someone’s knife into their own face is just so satisfying.
I miss the “yoink” terribly, always had a blast doing that.
I’m loving the Get Low. Great name and brutal way to kill someone

It hate that medal.
I love using Don’t Flip Out because not only does it look cool, but it also makes it much more difficult for someone else to intervene and steal the kill.

yeah… but they don’t want to encourage kill stealing… all the time haha
If they would just fix it to where you are guaranteed credit for the kill as soon as it starts the animation I understand an enemy killing you to save their teammate but I hate when I’d be in the middle of the animation on a boss in warzone or something and boop stolen so now I have every assassination unlocked but don’t use them because its quicker and easier to just punch em in the back and be done with it

If it’s one thing 343i did to Halo that I really like, it’s assassination animations. I love being a sneaky little troll with camo and performing the “kick off” assassination on some unfortunate fellow.
I love assassination…some friends judge me saying “assassination are unnecessary” but I like it because those are beautiful and a foot way to punish and humiliate others player
