What if 343 had Master Chief keep the old sights (such as previous games) during the missions we got to play as him, and in multiplayer and any Locke missions we could use the new sights (ADS)? To keep both groups of people happy.
What do you guys think about this?

Tbh at this point the retro elitist can **** off and just not buy the game. They complain about every little thing and are unreasonable as heck. The scopes are fine and balanced if you don’t like it don’t buy it.

I am fine with many changes since most of them I can just ignore such as sprint or the other Spartan abilities, but since I do use the scope frequently is it really to much to ask for a tradition/modern option in player settings?
The tradition scope is a simple UI overlay and zoom, they could literally reuse the old graphic for each overlay and nobody would care, it would just give those of us who don’t like smart scope to have the option.

It would be nice of them to do this, but to be brutally honest they touted smart scope as one of the new features they aren’t going to remove it this late into development.
Honestly i think it looks cool its something fresh for halo, but imo it was added to attract new players as well.

the new smartscope only looks cool it doesent affect gameplay, and i think it is way more cool to have smartscope cuz it is still halo but its more realistic but the fully automatic weapons need to be only close range so drop the range with those, which 343i is doing or has done

They may complain about a lot of stuff, but this post shows that the ultra-radical neo-Halo supporters aren’t any better. What gives you the right to say anyone should **** off and stop supporting Halo? You sound just as angry as the “haters” do.
I would have been content if the new smart scope/ADS/whatever was a toggleable option, but I don’t appreciate 343 forcing it down our throats.
i dont think he sounds angry, but if he is he is only angry about all the hate the elitists and ‘haters’ are giving the game without even playing it yet, yeah they played a beta a year before release, which will be nothing like the real game due to all the changes still being made.

However smart scope is very unlikely to change. I know its only a graphical thing but I would still rather my tradition scope even it was just a toggle option in the menu.
really this isn’t hard to achieve and would make so many people happy. it doesn’t ruin it for people who like Smart scope either.

I honestly think I like the idea of that, MC having “old” UNSC tech for the most part and Locke having his New tech it would work as a nice way to introduce older players to the new style.
I did hear they were going to edit it and not make the smart scope as powerful as before, at least for the automatics. However i do agree with the few people that they are not going to change it.

Though I don’t agree with his way of wording his opinion he has a point. This is the scope they want as long as it balanced gameplay wise it’s all that matters the rest is preference. And I’m not talking about balanced to halo 1-3 standards because that’s just like the maps. A perfect sized small halo 5 map will still be “too big” compared to halo of old.
I dont care if sprint or smart scope would not work in halo of old as long as they make it work in the halo they are implementing it in. My only worry was that flinch like movement but apparently was a bug and it’s fixed. The delay in the sniper also fixed. “The gun covering to much of the screen” isn’t a flaw in my eyes it’s something to keep in mind. Ppl that forget their halo roots and walk around smart scoped in will be at a disadvantage
