So some people said they looked on their reach disk and there was no GRD stored on it. After that, when the defiant map pack was released, people found that there was some unused space on the defiant map pack, which they thought was GRD, but no proof has been found.
But I’m wondering, has anyone checked the CEA disk or map pack for it? Otherwise, it might be linked to waypoint, like the other waypoint armor. If you don’t know what the waypoint armor is, it’s the CQB and Military Police helmets that are unlocked via achievements. So, any thoughts?
I think that helmet never was or ever will be in Halo Reach. Because it’s very hard to make armour DLC in Halo. But it will probably be in Halo 4.
Also, if you ask me it looks kinda crappy.
It will have been scanned multiple times, the helmet itself isn’t even called GRD, it has no public name.
Even if it was on the disk, it wouldn’t work, there has been no update on Reach that redownloaded the .map files to allow the helmet to function.
Stop will these silly theories on the helmet, it is NOT going to be added, at Halo Fest, Chad Armstrong confirmed Armour DLC was planned but didn’t make the cut.
No additions that we know of. Perhaps we can be surprised later this year with new updates. Who knows…!
The so called “GRD” helmet does not exsist. If it was on the Anniversary disk it would only be wearable on the Anniversary maps and not in the Noble, Defiant or the default maps of Halo: Reach.
It’s in the Defiant trailer but I have a theory which has been shot down many times. My theory is that it was a helmet that was planned to be in Halo: Reach but it never made the final cut of the game.
I reckon it could be on Halo 4 as a tribute/easter egg to Bungie but who knows? All we know for sure is that, as of this moment, GRD does not exsist.
To not think the helmet is not hidden in the game is absurd.
Recall the time where one bungie employee’s began to wear the Recon helm. You see, that was never discovered on the disc coding ( we still didnt know even when another description of another armor piece mentioned the Recon variant -_-). As we know it was unlocked by the developers then handed out as a special treat for those contributing members in the community, we know what happened next, WE EARNED IT!
Although, it might have an official name, the community is dubbing it “GRD” which is fine. As for this “pic of inventory” yeah, pics or it didn’t happen.
I can recall an interview posted on Bungie’s website with a 343 developer talking about the Defiant map pack and giving few details about the HCEA. I do remember the sentence " some things the community will find, and other secrets will never be found or take longer to find". Please don’t ask for source, I tried and I couldnt find it in the archives. Feel free to go back and see this interview from the weekly updates. Good luck! (interview with 343 employee)
Anyhow, I’m quite sure 343 and Bungie’s have collaborated enough to narrow things into the game and make them least suspicious. Code names are in place, or any other words to deviate the tru7th ( see what I did there).
The helmet is in the game. It’s 343’s baby and Bungie’s let them have that because they knew they would no longer hold the reigns.
Doesn’t Halo reach have still have switches that we do not know the purpose of yet?
I want this helmet. It might be availiable and we haven’t figured it out yet or it’s for 343. Simple. Just need a clue.

If there will never be new armor in this game, then why is 343 hinting at it with the GRD teddy bears?
Also, alot of people said, on Bungie day, one of the Bungie employees wearing the GRD helmet.
What do you say to that, Moa?

I may not be Moa, but here’s my two cents. The GRD bears are more than likely something like an act of trolling (that’s how I look at it and it makes me laugh a bit). Also you say that a lot of people said that they saw employees wearing it on Bungie Day. Then where are all the pictures or videos (Rendered with Bungie Pro or a capture card) of it? I have heard the same thing but have yet to see any kind of actual proof of this. If you have some actual evidence of this, then post it. If not assume it’s either a lie or a mistake.

I have a feeling that 343i were trolling us as well, just as they were with the Halo 4 poster on the Pillar of Autumn.
You also bring up a fair point. If a Bungie employee was really wearing it there’d be a ton of screenshots and films about it.
Someone on the BNET brought up a topic with supposed “evidence” of it appearing on a Bungie webcam when really it was just the Haunted Helmet.
Any evidence that anyone brings forward is likely too be fake or modded into the game.
