I was playing LASOEBO(Legendary All Skulls On Except Blind On) and I saved and quit because I needed to go for some food, when I came back I resumed the game and to my shock “GRD Helmet Unlocked…”
As you can see in the film, I was -Yoink!- shocked and started jumping in-game and screaming IRL.
Just a note, the GRD Helmet did NOT unlock, my armoury is still the same, nothing changed but it may confirm the fact that the GRD Helmet has something to do with Long Night of Solace/Countdown.
EDIT - Seems like the tags on the Screenshot are accusing me of Modding. I would like to say, I have no idea how to mod Halo: Reach or even if it’s possible, this is a legit screenshot & film. EDIT 2 - To those asking what I did before hand, all I did was simply kill the enemies in the first area, then I ran inside the Launch Facility, BUT I did take a SNIPER AND A ROCKET LAUNCHER off two different marines before running inside to kill the Elite inside the facility. Then I got that Checkpoint, saved & quit and went for some food, came back and bam, "GRD Helmet Unlocked…" That is all I can say really, nothing more to it. EDIT 3 - Right, here goes. I got to the part were the elite runs in and kills a marine, I killed that elite and ran inside to the rest of Noble Team, this is why the killing spree shows up but the Checkpoint appears AFTER the Killing Spree, so it will show the medal but it will NOT trigger it in the Medal Chest or Game History, this is to prevent Medal Boosting. The reason by 0 points? When you save & quit then resume the campaign, your points get reset back to zero, same for the timer. Put them both together and wham, explanation for you. Even test it yourself if you do not believe me.

It amazed me how many people fell for it to be honest, regardless of the evidence posted on Bungie.net.
