Gravity Lift super jumping question

I see people every so often who are able to pull off extremely long launches off of the gravity lifts while thrusting at the right time. I can do the simple acrobatics like changing directions to get to elevated locations, but the extended long jumps are eluding me.

My questions are:

  1. Are there any videos or instructions for making those super long launches?

  2. Are the physics for all the gravity lifts the same? If I can master the technique on one of them will it translate to all of them on different maps?

  3. Can I go into forge and find or create a map with a gravity Lift so I can practice?

Thanks

1) I was gonna ask you if you had any videos to show it in action, but I’m sure there’s something on Youtube.

2) I imagine they are, but I think their lift strength can vary depending on the map.

3) Yes, but it’s probably better to test on the actual map since the approach or jump may be affected by map structures.

To see the super long jump watch:

and skip to 4:00.

It involves charging a ground pound while getting “sucked” into the lift apparatus. The thrust is just to cancel out the ground pound from happening. I can show you as I do this extremely consistently and have been for over a year now.

Edit: based on the video you linked, that’s just simply thrusting out of the lift’s coded trajectory. You’re carrying momentum from the lift height with the thrust’s speed and direction.

Oh, all that guy was doing was using thrust and then either changing direction or using the stabilizer to stay up longer. Nothing fancy about it. If you watch the video, you can see when he uses thrust cause the cool down icon will appear so that should help you figure out when to you use it.

This is just simply thrusting off a lift at the right time. It is, however, possible to manipulate grav lifts to get additional height and distance. Not so practical on arena maps though.

I’ve tried dozens of times and I just can’t seem to pull off the jump at 4:00. I was hoping there was some magic formula because it seems like a really useful jump, but alas I will just keep trying

It’s a tough one but it’s definitely worth practicing. You can practice getting distance on just about any arena map, clearly you want to do it in warzone so you should try to practice in a customs lobby using that one glitch that exists.

Which jump in the video since there were a few of them in a row? To get on the pillar, just thrust backwards quickly once you use the man cannon and then turn around and ground pound onto the top of the pillar. If you don’t get high enough, then test out different times for when to use thrust, but it should be close to when you get on the man cannon.

For long distance, use the man cannon and maybe around halfway (test different spots if distances vary) use thrust and then zoom in until you’re near the object you want to clamber on. Make sure you have stabilizers enabled so you float longer.

That was the man cannons in their original state. They’ve since toned down their launch power and you cannot launch and hover yourself onto the garage’s roof.

Well that would explain it if that’s the case. Oof, shows how long I haven’t played Warzone.

Eureka! I was truly hoping that was the case and that I wasn’t a total loser. Thanks so much for the response!
