In a head-to-head (toe-to-toe) attack at full sprint between the following, which would win? Assume they are the base models.
Gravity hammer vs gravity hammer
Gravity hammer vs energy sword
Energy sword vs energy sword
Are there any skills/techniques that help you win these kind of situations or it’s just based on luck?
In my experience, assuming the weapons are swung at the exact same time:
Grav Hammer vs. Grav Hammer = You both die.
Grav Hammer vs. Sword = Grav Hammer wins 99% of the time.
Sword vs. Sword = You both clash until you both die.
There really aren’t any tricks beyond juking your opponent to try and create an opening, usually in between their swings if they whiff. But straight, head-to-head collisions, it usually comes down to luck, more so the case when it’s Hammer against Hammer.
Gravity hammer vs gravity hammer is whoever swings a fraction of a second faster.
gravity hammer vs sword the hammer almost always wins unless you Spartan charge with the sword then more than likely you’ll both die.
sword vs sword is whoever doesn’t mess up.
juke the opponent and make them swing early seems to work? If you’re attacking head on I think that would be the only way. If you have the hammer don’t be too aggressive and you’ll win a lot of your battles

Always zoom when you’re about to attack with either of them. Yes it sounds stupid, and it is, but it actually does make a difference. Zooming with the hammer gives you more range, therefore allowing you to kill from further away. Zooming with the sword allows you to lunge forward and kill from a ridiculous range as long as your reticle is red when you swing.
Depends on the lunge you get from the sword
How do you aim the gravity hammer? Like where should I posistion that weird crosshair for maximum range? Also, any other grav hammer tips are appreciated as well. Thanks

I’ve never zoomed or even thought it possible to zoom with a hammer or sword!!

If you zoom with a sword you can beat someone with a hammer, if you are quick enough and they don’t react fast enough.

Just aim it at whoever you are attacking like you normally would. You probably won’t get it immediately, but after you experiment with it a bit you will start to get an idea of how much range you have. I was able to get pretty good with the sword and hammer from lots of screwing around in custom games with friends, and lots of grifball.
If your fast enough with a sword and you’re opponent is unaware you could pull off a sneaky one
In my opinion gravity hammers are favored for dealing with groups of people or light-medium armored vehicles(assuming they are ground vehicles)
As for energy swords i tend to use them for killing ball carriers or in a 1v1(assuming we both have a sword)
In a 1v1, the hammer would win at least 80% of the time
this is my opinion but i favor the hammer

Hammer vs hammer = both die
Hammer vs sword = for some reason, game developers gave hammer priority over sword, so if you both attack at the same time, hammer has priority.
Sword vs sword = you clash until you die
Gravity hammer vs gravity hammer - you both might die unless the other person just doesn’t swing
gravity hammer vs sword- gravity hammer 8 times out of 10,
sword vs sword- I can’t really tell, whoever just doesn’t choke
