I feel like punching someone sends bodies flying (Which I Love Pls dont nerf) but I wish the gravity hammer sent them flying even more so but it usually just makes the others body collapse in place. Which is a little disappointing. Also would be cool if it effected movement. Would make for some fun “Mint Blitz” moments
I agree in that the Gravity Hammer would be better if there was some more physics tied to its mechanics, the weapon feels like it could use some work, as well with the regular melee times for it. However I think their intended design goals were to move these physics to that piece of equipment called the Repulsor that we haven’t been able to play with yet. You can launch yourself upwards if you aim that tool at the ground which is a distinct thing the Gravity Hammer used to do as well, maybe they don’t want to create objects in the sandbox with copied mechanics?
I think the gravity is fine in some ways. I dont want my enemies getting pushed away from me when I use the hammer. Closer is better. What I do want is the bodies to go flying along with any other physics objects. I also want a slight bounce when using it too. Right now it feels like a gravity crusher with the gravity being centered above you whereas before it was more like a gravity explosion.
I wish they made the gravity hammer have more gravity and hammer to the sound. Right now it sounds like someone smacking a base drum crossed with someone stomping their newbalances on some sheet metal. I want it to sound like an active machine that’s being swung by a superhuman.
Needs more gravity and needs a beefier sound effect.
Also increase the damage of the hammer or make it swing faster cause ain’t nobody using this over the sword in the final game if its the way it is currently.
I think it’s just way too slow for a power weapon. I’m already at a disadvantage from a distance but if I miss from close quarters or he survives I’m doomed. I started to ignore the hammer.
Weapon is fine, damage is fine, range is perfect, speed is perfect… but why have “gravity” in the title if it doesn’t move things around?
I want to launch warthogs, mongeese (mongooses? Mongi?) and boxes around again especially in customs and zombies.
Its a very upsetting that there is no hammer jumping and the hammer didnt really push teammates far, worries me that launching will not be a thing in grifball.
Less of a Gravity Hammer and more of a… Well… Hammer. To be honest. I miss the ragdoll physics.
You can send people flying with a melee and not the gravity hammer… Yeah this needs to be fixed

Totally agree, the gravity hammer needs to have a gravity effect on things, this is also good for the game overall because that creates an opportunity for a lot of funny moments and clips which people can pull off and share. Please fix this, thx
Maybe you can swing yourself up higher too for a new effect and add some power to it but uses energy.
Personality I thought that the gravity on the gravity just didn’t have the classic feel it didn’t in halo 3 where it would launch everything far and high, to me those where funny and awesome times to launch my enemies all over the place and have a laugh. I think you guys at 343 should add a little more gravity.
I don’t care about the bodies flying part. I care about the swinging animation being super slow and the hit radius being very limited.
I hope they increase the physics on the gravity hammer. I miss hammer jumping

I’m ok with that to a degree, the hammer has mulitkill potential in one swing, the sword can’t do that. In H5 the sword was utterly neutered compared to the hammer aside from the speed buff which really didn’t close the gap. I think in 1v1 situations with casual players the sword should beat hammer over 50% of the time. The hammer makes up for this with area effect damage, and a skill gap to how that can be used against the sword with an early timed swing.
Gravity hammer is too slow to swing, imo.

i get what you are saying i think it should send bodies flying when you kill them and it needs to affect your movement like it did in halo 3 where the gravity affect could be used just like other weapons like the brute shot or nade jumping they all had their affect on physics

Damage is fine. Range is fine. Even the swing time is fine.
Needs more physics.
