The lunge is bs it’s a little to far In my opinion you can lunch at someone and don’t have to be very far from them at all quit making this game more and more noob friendly
Throw a noob in arena with the hammer and watch them get wrecked, just saying the lunge really does not add that much. Its like the lunge with the sword, its big but pretty easy to beat (team kills are lovely)
I love it. Halo 5 has done the best tuning of the weapons in any Halo yet.
I was surprised by the lunge at first and since I have had no issues with the G-Hammer, though everyone else I’m ever in a party seems to…
But they also complain about the Sword not being able to “lock on” so who knows.
i found the lunge was only large when sprinting. It feels big in grifball cause your always sprinting but in slayer its very difficult to use against anyone decent at the game. just like the sword. When your sprinting you are very vulnerable. I like the high risk high reward system. It has been present since combat evolved
Still doesn’t beat the energy sword. That thing is a magnet!
The G hammer lunge can be nerfed it just makes everyone kill each other at the same time instead of whoever timed it better, also no matter what if you shoulder charge someone with the sword its a guaranteed kill but you also die in the process, its extremely annoying because there is no skill or timing involved and no way to counter it unless you get extremley lucky, that needs to be fixed ASAP.
P.S you can throw the ball outside the map and then gravity hammer yourself outside the map and hold on to the ball out there with a leading score and win, how about at roof or maybe some killzones to prevent that, even tho no one important is probably going to see this, thanks for listening

What’s even worse is when the Grav hammer brutes hit you mid lunge.
I think it’s fine as is. Anywhere but Grifball, it will be negligible, because not everybody will have a oneshot melee and that half second (maybe?) to walk closer for the kill doesn’t matter so much.
It really is annoying for me to get commando lunged from a mile away. I feel like I’m play MW2 in that respect. I have to agree with the idea of the lunge taking away from timing and baiting to a degree.

Balance wise? Maybe. Overall tuning? Absolutely not. The kill times are all too fast and the range skews towards long too much for my liking. If you tried to BR in Halo 2 or 3 at the ranges that I consistently hit perfect kills Halo 5 it would take like 6-7 shots to kill. Bullet magnetism is way too high, and spawn killing is the most prevalent it’s ever been because of the weapon range.
