Gravity hammer is a joke

It works from ten feet away, except when it doesn’t. Then it won’t work from a foot away, except when it does. Can you just go back to making weapons function in a consistent manner? Or is the new solution to weapon design just make everything really powerful, but Yoink the aiming system?

While I also have the same problems with the grav hammer, I guess if people are simultaneously complaining that its OP, and that its too weak, that probably means its neither. Probably user error.

I could be wrong here, believe a beat down neuters it. I’ve seen the hammer and sword clash a bunch and when they do the hammer just strips shields and doesn’t kill.

I will say something is wonky about its range, I’ve seen clips where people got bonked while being an entire floor’s worth of distance beneath them. While I can’t get a one hit kill being like arm’s length away.

It’s incredibly inconsistent, the range, the damage, and even the wind up on the swing.

Hell, I even managed to pop my own shield with a hammer swing on a blind enemy.

Sounds like a latency issue, which is currently a huge problem atm cos you can’t choose the Region you play in.
It could “hit” but the registration could have the guy be tagged as being out of your kill range and etc.

This grav hammer is my favorite so far. It feels so heavy and powerful. The timing took getting used to, but I’m happy with it.

Also, the delay should be removed.

I can’t imagine how frustrating it would be trying to play Griff Ball. it would drive me nuts :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I honestly like the delay. Gives it even more of an identity in gameplay over the sword, and helps it feel weighty like it should. I think people will get used to it in grifball.

That’s because the weapons in this game literally don’t work consistently! The gravity hammer will work from quite a distance, then sometimes it won’t work right next to people. It’s insane how much variation is in every single weapon in this game. The only weapons which function exactly as they should every time is the AR and BR. Every other gun does something different half the time and it’s so -Yoink!- annoying.

I do think it’s a bit messy with hit registration right now, but I like it more than the old hammer, which was just worse than the sword. I like the change, even if it has some kinks to work out.

This thing’s range is nuts

Summary:
Shots 1-5: Clearly missed.
Shots 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control).
Shots 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses.
Shot 12: Likely didn’t actually fire because Rampage116 was already dead.
