Gravity Hammer In Halo Infinite

I really hope that the Gravity Hammer in Halo Infinite goes back to its roots as a “physics-based” weapon. The amount of clever tricks you could pull off with Halo 3’s Gravity Hammer was almost innumerable.

I thought about this recently, and I honestly think its a really cool idea if balanced properly but what if Infinite gave you the choice to be able to throw a Gravity Hammer?

Some innovation with the Gravity Hammer feels appropriate for sure- it’s never really matched the Energy Sword in terms of iconography or utility, IMO (understanding it does certainly have its own merit and niche in the gameplay).

With the Banished stepping up as the new big bads of the Halo Universe, revamping the Hammer makes a lot of sense. Not sure why I’ve always felt like it’s a definite second fiddle to the Energy Sword, but if there’s ever a time to turn that around it’s now.

i think the idea of throwing the gravity hammer is cool but I’d bet it would destroy any mid to small vehicle on the battlefield.

Definitely wouldn’t be fun for a warthog runner like me

if anything how about variant of the Gravity hammer either AOE smash like the standard one or how about straight line of force giving it a bit of range.

Would be cool if we could get the model variation of Hyperius in multiplayer

I prefer the hammer in Halo Reach.

I think a great way to differentiate the gravity hammer from the energy sword would be to crank it’s interaction with physics to the max. In Halo 3 for example, you can use the hammer to boost jumps. I’d like to see that feature return, maybe stronger, as well as being able to launch objects with the hammer pretty substantially. Now you’ve got a unique weapon that while similar to the sword, imparts an entirely new playstyle into the sandbox

That’s a neat idea, it would open up more possibilities to take down opponents and makes battles that much more interesting.

I would absolutely love it if the hammer functioned more like the Halo 3 hammer with less splash damage but a lot stronger impulse to knock around vehicles projectiles and players.

I’ve found most post-Halo 3 hammers to be underwhelming where they felt less like a hammer with a pulse and more like a giant flyswatter. I don’t know about throwing the hammer, but I would love it if you could use the hammer swings to allow for additional movement options, like a double jump for example.

Long story short Physics > Damage when it comes to the hammer.

100 percent agree, post Halo 3 hammers were severely lacking. Physics should definitely be prioritized, after all it is called a Gravity Hammer lol.

Doesn’t sound too bad. With the more classic route Halo Infinite is taking, we might get some surprises here and there. I don’t see throwing them being a possibility though. It’s not a bad idea but I don’t think there’s a way to incorperate that while making the weapon feel balanced in-game.
