Gravemind might be last Precursor?

Well first of all I know this has been a theory before and is on going. I just want to put in my 2 cents.

  1. A lot of people think he died in halo 3. I think otherwise. (i might be missing something that says he’s alive or dead, sorry if so). Well if he is the last precursor, he is supposed to be able to survive halo firings. He is said to be most machine. This would allow him to survive the halo that fires at the end of halo 3, because halo’s are supposed to destroy LIFE. He might not qualify as life. This would also explain how he can control the flood without being taken over by it.

  2. ‘‘Child of my enemy’’
A quote from the gravemind in the level ‘cortana’.
    ‘‘You are forerunner’’
A quote from guilty spark after he kills sgt. johnson.

If chief is a forerunner, then the gravemind might be referring to him. The precursors, as you should know, were wiped out by the forerunners. Except for 1. So the forerunners would be the enemy, and master chief would be the child. Making the gravemind the last precursor.

(IF ANY OF THIS IS COMPLETELY WRONG, IM SORRY)

Chief is not a Forerunner…

> Chief is not a Forerunner…

Not a rel foreunner. But a descendent? Is that possible?

Forerunners and Humans are completely different, distinct species.

Im curious where you found that little tidbit of info

Oh ok. Any reason 343 guilty spark said this? I mean the work ‘son’ can mean a lot. Perhaps the forerunners had something to do with the cheif. Anything at all? Or am I just being dumb?

Spark’s gone rampant.

Forerunners made us their predacessor though but it is true humans and forerunners are species apart

b.net forums. and the part about the machine on halo wiki or something like that.

I believe he used the word “Forerunner” as one who controls the fate of the galaxy, and the two species also bear a strong resemblance.

Yeah, that’s wrong.

Actually the Forerunners may not be related to humans but they did make us their predacessor if that makes sense. They chose humanity to carry on which is why the Ark is located on Earth.

> Forerunners made us their predacessor though but it is true humans and forerunners are species apart

By son the gravmind could be referring to how chief was the reclaimer. (or the humans the inheritors)

Im afraid you are misinformed then. The Precursors are a form of life and therefor are subject to the Halo array. And the gravemind is made up of flood biomass, so it is also subject to the effects of the rings.

Well either case I don’t think Gravemind is a precursor from my understanding Graveminds are formed from when the flood take over enough hosts to create a gravemind which gives them intelligence and helps coordinate them better then your average zombie.

*Note my posts don’t seem to show up until a few minutes later so my posts are kind of off :frowning:

Wow, I never noticed that. I guess we’ll have to wait to find out

What if the gravemind/precursor are connected trough the domain.

> What if the gravemind/precursor are connected trough the domain.

The what? Sorry I need to read the books.

> What if the gravemind/precursor are connected trough the domain.

But contact was lost with the domain due to disturbances (I think) so that might be flawed
