Most of us think that the flood will return in Halo 5, but will a gravemind?
For me, personally, a gravemind would be a good boss to shoot at (since it’s so huge)

If the flood returns and manages to gather enough biomass in some location then it’s very possible that the Gravemind could be remade.

Spirit of Fire, possibly.

It would be a good start but I think a lot more bodies are required before a gravemind can start to form. Looking back at all the deaths in the original Halo and seeing that the flood stayed in the feral stage means that there’s a good chance not even that much biomass is enough. Of course, it could be that the gravemind was never revealed or the gravemind didn’t even exist as a concept at the time.
I must see a Keymind in game.
without a gravemind the flood isn’t as difficult to fight, so I’m sure if the flood gets reintroduced we will also see a gravemind

Then that means the galaxy is at an end.

In-game or in-universe?

Pfft, Halo CE Flood >> Halo 3 Flood.

Both I suppose. Technically even if the Gravemind existed on Delta Halo at the time it had no way to communicate with the flood on Alpha Halo since they were still in the feral stage. It’s the same way with spirit of fire. So the flood would be gathering biomass to make a gravemind in both those situations.
Wasn’t it said in Halo Primoridum that there was an estimated 10 Graveminds (or Proto-Graveminds?) on Installation 07? They might not have been active, but one way or another, at least there’s some Biomass there that could be used for a Gravemind.

Those were probably destroyed by the Swords of Sanghelios when they discovered Installation 07 and started sterilization protocols.

The Gravemind hands MC a chip like the one in the E3 trailer

Not necessarily. Lure the keyminds to the ark again, and have Master Chief play Halo 3 again.

Halo Legends has been proven to be mostly non-canon in the Cortana Origins episodes. Most of the other episodes are canon, but Odd One Out and Origins are non-canon.

Not necessary is Origins non-canon.
"We didn’t just want this to be a recap, we wanted to take the opportunity to really push the story forward than just recall events that had happened, and so there’s little bits of that in here. And we want this to be something that people think about and interpret. […] We want people to think, what does this mean for future games? What does this mean for future fiction? […] Some of it is a lot more than what it appears to be right now.“
“The story which Cortana is telling, which is humanity’s continual need for conflict and war. […] The Flood is sort of the heart of the Halo story and things always tend to come around to that.“
“We’re just making sure that we have it planned out. This doesn’t mean that the next Halo games are going to feature any of the things that we’re hinting at here, definitely these are things that we want to cover in the fiction, and obviously Greg Bear is going to cover some of this in the Forerunner trilogy of novels, but we want to make sure that we understand what the future of the universe is so that we can better understand the past and the present. So, timescale aside, we just want to make sure that everything makes sense in our heads and that we’ve committed it to a plan so that we’re not making things up as we go along – and I think that’s a trap that a lot of franchises can fall into.”

Ok, what I meant, in very few words, was, Cortana was going rampant. She started recounting the history of the universe, starting with the destruction of the Forerunners. During her history lesson, she got several things wrong, such as Humanity and the entire Covenant, read THE ENTIRE COVENANT, stopped fighting each other and fought the Flood. By the way, about the Flood, Cortana says, in the anime, that the Flood returned as if they left the galaxy, when everyone knows that the major Flood crisis in the Halo trilogy came from the Alpha and Delta Halos. Then we get to the point in the anime that the Gravemind returns Cortana’s datachip after Master Chief arrived… Halo 3 never does this.
I realize I shouldn’t have said non-canon,but at the time, that was the best description I thought of in as few words as possible.

Oh? When did that happen? I don’t recall that event happening in any of the novels or anything, but I’m sure I could have easily missed it.
I want gravemind to give John, Cortana.
This is just me, but I think that a gravemind has been in hiding and is building an army all throughout the years after the human/covenant war.
