Just to let the monitors know this is not anything inappropriate just to see what reactions people would get from the title of this topic. Anyway I want to talk about what Cortana react and say when she sees the Gravemind again in Infinite and what her connections to the logic plague and what caused her to change due to Halo 5 story. I can already hear Hidden Xperia yapping on the types of flood and his new flood videos on the Gravemind’s return. …Popcorn and Tentacles making a return you can say.
The flood are Bungies’s big baddies. 343i has there own galactic threat and what not going on. I personally would like to see the flood get their moment in the sun so to say but I think theyve been left in the first trilogy.
It would explain her irrational behaviour in 5 aside from being cured from rampancy or so they say…

If this is the case , then 343 have no idea what story they are trying to tell and maybe never have. How do you tell a story about the Forerunners return and not have the greatest threat they ever faced and never defeated be involved? With the added context of knowing the flood were not purged even from our galaxy , I ask again , how are they not involved?
IDK , I have been more and more disenfranchised lately , and if 343 continues to develop Halo with the concept of “We know what will make Halo better” (which they clearly don’t) instead of just making a Halo game , I’m probably done.
Never mind ; I know. This is their third attempt to make a main line Halo title. 3 strikes and you’re out!

For those who think the flood wont be in this game i say to you go look at the audio recordings released by 343. The ones with fruit explosion and the current passed through a volume of liquid sound exactly like flood. I personally think this is enough of a confirmation. Also take the lore which says that humanity final test for the mantel is the flood and humanity has yet to attain the mantel. Another point is were on Zeta Halo which has a massive flood history from the Forerunner Flood war. We could have a break out on the zeta halo or the flood outbreak on the ark could makes its way there as well. It makes sense to bring the flood back if they are bringing inspiration from CE. The way they are tied in is via the logic plague given to cortana between halo 2 and 3 that has been set up by both Bungie and 343. The Didact was given the logic plague and tried to take control of the galaxy but is ultimately put in the Domain. Now Cortana, who is also in the Domain, takes control of the galaxy with The Didact’s army. The logic plague ties halo 4 and 5 with the original trilogy in a neat package reveals the flood to be the true antagonist. When it comes to the implementation with the logic plague that is far more speculative but I think the one thing we can be certain is that they will be in this game.
