I 100% agree. There should be accesible ‘strength’ and ‘type’ properties for the grav lifts. Honestly, it just seems like something they missed, because several other gameplay objects have custom properties that allow easy editing of their functionality.
However, I would rather have them include [x,y,z] displacement setting than omit it. The ability to edit those settings directly would be extremely useful for hardcore map makers. At the moment, we have to do projectile calculations in a script to launch people where we want them to. It works, but it’s waaay more complicated than it needs to be.
there are a lot of properties missing in infinite forge which we are used to having in halo 5 forge. i think these grav lift properties are probably still being tweaked so that when they become available in future infinite forge updates we will be able to not only step on a grav lift that bends you around a corner, but probably a spinner plate too. like u step on a grav lift and it shoots u in the air and forward a little bit, and it also makes ur guy spin around really fast and get dizzy.
For sure on the displacement. It should either be togglable for all the lift types, allowing you to choose between the old-school “just a big physics push in ‘direction the lift points’,” the current format where it’s a very fixed amount, and a displacement setting, eliminating the need for scripting (which does my head in), or three different types of lifts.
Obviously the former is preferred, but probably a more complicated implementation for the devs. I know they don’t have magic wands that they can just “poof” in functionality, haha.
either way, here’s hoping launchers get a little bit of love in the future.
