Does the Grappleshot fit into the game / to a Spartan or should it be removed?
In my opinion the Grappleshot is a disaster and needs to be removed desperately. A 500kg Spartan flying towards an enemy like a rocket when used or even shooting at surfaces to make him swing around like Spider-Man are mechanics which don‘t fit at all to this kind of character.
It’s a tool I might give an ODST but not a Spartan with such a weight.
The Jetpack is a wonderful, known and more realistic way to bring you to high-lying places.
In addition it steals coolness and seriousness from Chief. Now that I have seen this I have to always think of him wearing Spider-Man armour.
Who thinks it should be removed, too?

Take it out of multiplayer. This is a shooting game, not a rock climbing expedition.
I think it looks neat!
From a multiplayer perspective it looks like it’ll be a piece of equipment rather than default starting ability, which I have no concern over.
Should make for a lot of interesting and really wacky Action Sack games. Good times!
I’m undecided on whether it should stay or go. Don’t really know how it will affect the game. If I’m being honest, I’m ok with it, it looked like it could be fun to use.
It’s definitely not something I’d expect Chief to use but I guess I’d have to see him use it in third person via coop.
It would have looked better if the grappleshot shoots then locks, then Chief uses his spartan strength to pull himself to the target (or his target to him) in one tug. That is, the player would get an instantaneous boost in the grapple direction (and physics do the rest), not zip all the way there like Batman. The tiny grappleshot attachment doesn’t look like it should be able to pull a tank, and there’s certainly no reason chief would be floating the whole way. Integrate it better with the rest of the physics-based movement system and i’m on board.
Regardless, it appears to be an equipment pickup, so it may not affect our favourite multiplayer gamemodes (and it could probably improve some).
I don’t have much to say about it, I think it’s cool though.
