Just saw a video and you can grapple the flag to you!!!?
Please tell me this will not be in the final game. Way to OP even now ive seen people juggling with the flag while sliding and jumping and its way too fast.
I didn’t see anything wrong with it. Grappleshot is an equipment you need to pick up to use, of course it should have benefits in objective matches. Pretty sure you can also launch a dropped flag with the Repulsor. Or just use a Drop Wall to cover your exit.
Yes equipment is that you have to go out and get it so that you can use it but being able to grapple the flag to you is unfair i think. Id rather that you grapple to the flag. If this is the case all CTF matches, people will just cheese the mechanic and the games will seem unfair and waaayyy too quick.
Or they will make crazy clutch plays in important moments, and raise the hype of the match.
That’s what me and my buddy felt when it happened in our game, I was like "why’s that guy grappling away and leaving the flag behind? Then he grabbed it and we were like “whooooah that was sweet!”
I don’t see why this is a problem. This is not the only item that gives you an advantage. If you have active camo on and you are holding the flag it does not reveal your location until the active camo wears off or is interrupted. It just states that the flag is stolen.
If you got someone at your base defending the flag and not all four of you are racing to the flag it was not a problem dealing with any of these mechanics.
I also don’t see an issue if the attacking team can do it so can the defending team. This shouldn’t be seen as a one way system, both sides can take advantage of this.
Oh neat, I didn’t realise that was possible too. This opens up the possibility for some interesting plays. I don’t see much of an issue here if it can be used both offensively and defensively. Hell, even if it could only be used for offensive purposes I’d be okay with it.

Sure, it’s sweet and cool when you first see it, but now that everyone knows it’s a thing, that’s all people are going to do. It just reminds me of the flag bounce bug from Colossus in H2. Granted this isn’t a bug, but it will completely shift the meta of CTF where you just need to get the flag slightly out of the base and then grapple.
This will surely make CTF a snore fest because it will be control grapple, if no grapple control, turtle flag until you do.
Being able to grapple the flag isnt the issue. People who cheese this mechanic is the issue. As much as it feels cool and could change up gameplay it feels too unfair. People would just complain about the grapple being in CTF gametypes and then 343 would have to address it and probably take out the grapple in CTF to stop everyone complaining or defending this mechanic in CTF. They would simply take it out to stop the divide and heated debates if it should be there or not. At least my idea that you zip to the flag seems fair enough to keep the grapple in CTF. You can still have the advantage of having the grapple to zip quickly to the flag or drop the flag and escape from the other team. The flag is suppose to move at a certain speed from one side to the other, having a mechanic that increases the flag moving from one side to the other is game breaking for CTF and we all know this. If anyone is for this mechanic than i dont think you understand basic fairness.

The range on the grapple hook isn’t all that long, and you could just as easily use the same mechanic to your advantage as a defender, grappling the flag out of the way of a would-be flag runner and back to a more defensible position.
I personally love the new items because it adds variety in the choices you can make based on certain scenarios. It’s not just BR 1v1’s.

Could you please stop posting bad takes?
I think it’s really good and cool how equipment actually interacts with the world around it.

I just said I think it’s interesting that these things work the way they do.
I think it will make CTF more exciting, fast flag caps are very fun to pull off or to have to defend against. It’s no different to an enemy player securing neutral rockets and killing a few members of the team for the advantage.
Would have to see it at full send before making my mind up about if it should be allowed in competitive or not. You want it to be a fun way to play but not game breaking where one team can capture 3 flags in 20 seconds with a repulsor and grappling hook.
Will be nice to have options in team as well as usually you can’t capture a flag without a vehicle.
Also you can push the Flag with the Ghost.
Also, I really dislike the Flag juggling.
I agree with you mate.

I cant see hows thats fair. If you played as hard as you could to get the flag half way across the map and got shot and then on respawn you run back to where the flag is and just about as you going to pick it back up it gets zipped away from you. Attacking or defending i think that you should grapple to the flag not have the flag zip to you.
Why are you all complaining about depth? Nobody wants to play a shallow competitive fps.

Listen i know you and have seen you on here flaming the fire of heated conversations in other topics. You only said that so you could seem constructive after saying “Could you please stop posting bad takes?” You had your own topics before and you were post bumping as well as encouraging trolling. Now ive warned you once before if you have nothing constructive or are trolling you can be banned. If you dont like the topic you can leave. Please im not asking you to respond. You said what you said leave it at that and have a good day lady.
