Halo infinite grapple shot is a great add on ! I dig it. But in the halo infinite tech preview, it is used like a grenade how u have to pick it up, and it’s limited! It should be built in to the suit! But also in the halo infinite gameplay demo, the grapple shot has a cool down. It must be like that for all of halo infinite!!! Not a grenade where u pick it up, a cool down time armor ability that everyone has!!!
If people have a permanent grapple shot in a sense where it has a cooldown, I’d see that being very unbalanced, if I wanted to play Titanfall then, I would play Titanfall.
For campaign, I’d love to see it be permanent!

I don’t think unlimited grapple shot would be a good idea you would have everyone grappling all over the place and it wouldn’t be/feel like a halo… Maybe in a game mode 343i could do something with a unlimited grapple in like Grifball? That would be kool grab the ball and pull it towards you or throw above a team mates head and they grab it to pull to them and catch it. And maybe see a unlimited grapple with a cool down In the campaign?.. I guess we will just have to wait and see my friends

like other people have said that wouldn’t be really bad with campaings but it would be really unbalnced in multiplayer though there should be an alternative on having to pick it up

that would be halo 5 all over again where everyone has stupid abilities

For MP a really bad idea imho. This would take the gameplay too far away from the already good Halo gameplay and it will get silly instead. 343i already created a good mix from Classic Halo and new experiences. So many people love that Halo infinite feels indeed fresh but somehow classic, perma grapplehook would destroy this nice feelings.
For Campaign more imaginable.

Agreed - armor abilities off the bat didn’t work for me. It’s gotta be like a power weapon to even remotely have a chance at balancing.
If you want grapples that bad, go play titanfall 2 (jokes on you, I’m playing it right now).

Its a pick up. Thats like a core element of the halo philosophy.

I think it’s better if it acts as a power weapon, because that makes the grapple shot more awesome to use. There’s amazing satisfaction in fighting everyone to get it as opposed to everyone just having it at the start. Much prefer the way it is now. Would be a good idea for custom games though.

im all for it! nice to have a new feature which you can have fun new ways to interact with the environment and enemies
I’m sure we’ll see a wacky “Grapple Slayer” in action sack or something.
I can think of, unlimited use with a cooldown in custom game settings, firefight, action sack and campaign. It works fine as an equipment right now, no need to change it.
grappleshot is a equipment piece like drop wall and threat sensor and the ability to zip across the map is a bit too powerful for a built- in ability
Ok I’ll agree. If it’s in campaign, it like has to be a cool down permanent item, but in multiplayer it would make sense to have to pick it up. But I’ll be honest, I LOVED the halo 5 armor abilities
