Grapple shot/equipment proposal

I like all the new equipment a lot but one major issue for me in campaign now that i’ve done 2 playthrough is that the selection never began to feel second nature to me. My 2nd playthrough was on Legendary and so many times I’ve accidentally selected the wrong thing and died as a consequence (I play with a controller and default settings as far as I know). On top of that, I feel like the grapple shot should always be a usable ability and other equipment should be based on selection.

This is kinna like how Reach had sprint as an armor ability so I never really used the others. What I’d propose is that the grapple is always Right bumper. Down on the D-pad would allow you to push left or right to toggle scan/flashlight (since you don’t typically need to use these quickly) and up on the D pad would now use the other equipment. Selection for Right on the D-pad would be the same, (although I’d prefer if pushing Left and Right on the d pad would just toggle to the next thing instead of have me pick it again.)

I feel like that way grapple would always be second nature as RB and I would use the other abilities much more.

(also, where’ the repulsor? I dreamed bigly of repulsing enemies off the side of the ring)

This all comes down to how limited the options are on controller… Like we can talk about this but that is why things are the way they are.

It just occurred to me that this wouldn’t really work with thrust if movement requires your left thumb so I guess my whole suggestion is a fail lol. Still, I’d like to see something similar to this idea made available

Oh I agree its limited but just feel like it could be better
