Everybody heard it. The new grapplejack medal. Sounds interesting.
I did a bit of thinking though, is this going to completely ruin using air? I imagine there is some form of range limit which will help, but I imagine this might be a bit of a pain.
Would be kinda funny if they ended up having to make different game modes without the grapple just to appease players. Other games have done similar things. I’m not a PvP fan myself, but just figured it was worth bringing up, even if it doesn’t affect me.
I find it strange that many people think that players are always equipped with grapple hook. Like there might only be one per map with only a couple uses each time it spawns. By your logic Spartan lasers nullify all vehicles which is far more effective than the grapple shot.
That’s why it’s on the map as a pick up. If it was an AA like armor lock or jetpack then it would ruin the game.
Not everyone’s going to have grappling hooks in game. I believe it was stated that the grappling hook is going to operate somewhat like a power weapon, where players have to fight tooth and nail to acquire it.
Something tells me the counter to grapple is A. Being out of range, B. Shooting, or C. The enemy not having grapple.
Air vehicles have always been deathtraps not worth using though. Any time I get in a banshee I might as well just shoot myself since everyone suddenly gets god aim and destroys me (even when I think im flying smart)

Besides if people are worried about this so much, we still haven’t seen if there’s a counter. For all we know you could just barrel roll and be on your merry way…
Definitely makes a lot more sense if its a pick-up. Yeah spartan laser nullifies most vehicles but is a pickup so it’s not an issue.

I think because it’s been so heavily used in the advertising materials, it’s given some people the false impression that it will be used constantly

Can you imagine just flying around the map attached to a Wasp?? That would be so much fun.
I mean it’s equipment so I don’t think it will be an actual issue. If everyone had grapple all the time then that would be broken but that’s not the case.
