Grapics > Community?

From what I’ve heard the reason we didn’t get splitscreen was because 343 pushed the graphics and frame rate to the max. But was any of that needed? I swear on one of the maps (I think it was Regret) I saw a -Yoinking!- dragonfly floating around. I couldn’t believe it. You spent precious dev time on a bug? Not too mention the other floating stuff in the map just like CODS floating newspapers.
What I’m getting at is that 343 should have prioritized community over these gimmicks that add “immersion.” I’d rather be immersed in the good times of halo with my friends on the couch like we used too.

it’s because their engine is crap and isn’t capable of split screen w/o the xbox exploding or the game turning into pac-man.
officially, it really is because their engine isn’t capable of doing split screen. “engine limitations”

Halo 4 can play split screen on MCC. The graphics are better in H5 but the graphics in H4 were exceptional for coming out on the 360.

Inb4 all the 343 fanboys run in declaring “but they had to build the engine from scratch so they should get a free pass” and “it was their first game on Xbox one so they should get a free pass”

Gears of War: Ultimate edition has splitscreen and the framerate is super bad. Has more to do with how weak the Xbox One is than the game Engine.

> “Realistically, for Halo 5, it’s not something we can just throw in a patch,” O’Connor said. “The simulation the game runs at is 60 frames per second; you’ve seen how big the vistas are; you’ve seen things like the kraken and so on and so on and so on. It’s just not feasible with the engine works.”

frank o’ connor said this about split screen.
yes other games can do it but it’s because their engine wasn’t designed like crap

Id rather have a game that runs smoothly and no splitscreen… you have to understand that the times are a changing. and online play is becoming the norm

Everyone would cry if the game was 60 fps. So they made the decision to not add splitsrceen, bungoe wanted to get rid of since halo 2. Splitscreen eats SO MUCH RESOURCES! I was disappointed that it didn’t have it in, but i got over it. Frankly the fact they would add the small details like bugs and flowers makes this game so more amazing.

I really wish that we had split screen. Biggest fail of the game IMO.

id be fine if the next game is 30fps in campain and just LOOKS better but can be dumbed down in split screen, then mm be 60fps.
