To everyone that’s already picked up their copy - is it just me or are the graphics HORRIBLE compared to previous games, even compared to CODMW3 as a benchmark.
What’s with the first level? Pixel heaven?
Do i have to install it on my HDD to make it better? I run a 4GB.
Anyone with similar problems or am i just being too picky?
You shouldn’t have to, and the graphics are intensely stunning in my opinion.
I dunno what to tell you. What is your gaming setup, in terms of monitor/TV, Display Mode, and display cable? If you’re using a regular A/V cable, a tube TV or you have set your display mode to SD (480p or 360p), then it probably won’t look that great.
I think you need glasses, no offense meant honestly.
Best looking game on the 360 imo.
I prefer H3’s graphics over Reach’s. and H4 is just amazing.

Had the game since yesterday morning. Halfway through the campaign.
It’s stunning.
Especially on a 50" 1080p plasma.

I think you might be talking about aesthetics, unless you just prefer a lower polygon count. Honestly, I’m a fan of Reach’s “darker” colors. I got a headache from Halo: CEA bright color scheme and I had to lower the contrast down dramatically to stop my eyes from bleeding.

I’m glad I took the time to buy a Xbox 360 compatible HDMI cable to use with my monitor.
After 4-5 years of playing Halo games on a tube tv, I finally got to see the Xbox 360 in better light. I can’t wait to see Halo 4 in the same manner!
The only thing this setup robs me of is capturing my Halo 4 gameplay (since I had to unplug the A/V cable). Halo 4 campaign theater, please hurry up and come out!

the graphics are -Yoinking!- -Yoink- compared to previous games, got it?
Halo 3 = 1152x640 (no AA)
Halo: Reach = 1152x720 (2xAA temporal)
Halo 4 = 1280x720 (post-AA)

In terms of clarity, Halo 4 is superior. Halo 4 has a much improved lighting engine and i think you’lll find the graphics and artistic style is great once you play it.

everything from the foreground, to minor details all the way up to the “tumour” grunts look cartoonish
