OFC we’d keep the OG games but if 343 remade all Halo Games in Slipspace Engine would you guys find that a positive or a Negative?
Negative.
Slipspace generally not running well aside, we’d end up with really sad explosions and physics.
Each game, even its anniversary editions, also each have their own charm. Making them all look the same and running on the same engine would erode alot of that.
Are we talking teh Slipspace engine used in the teaser or the Slipspace engine used in the final game?
To me, they look totally different.
At most with Halo and remakes/remasters I’d like, is Halo 3 and ODST (And maybe another go at CE) getting the Halo 2A treatment and Reach and 4 getting texture enhancements as their visuals since hold up in my eye. I wouldn’t complain to a Halo 2A for everything if done well though.
Trailer engine. Halo Infinites final graphics are meh
Trailer engine is pure eye candy. Id replay H2 for sure in that engine.
I may regret saying this because it’s the devil. But I would like a FTP version of Halo2 Online.
Its a shame they wont redo the old maps, or at least some of them.
Zanzibar was something else.
I hope they redo maps but control differences between campaigns in MCC was a bit jarring when marathoning through campaigns.
I know it would be excellent. Certain Affinity did an excellent job at remaking - ascension, relic and and Sanctuary for MCC. Not surprising though considering the director for CA made the halo 2 maps back in the day.
“ In 2014, Certain Affinity revisited the franchise once again with Halo: The Master Chief Collection . Certain Affinity was responsible for updating Halo 2, including all client-side development and progression features, and bringing Halo 2 gameplay systems to the Halo 4 engine — not to mention all the weapons, vehicles, characters. animations, game modes, and achievements. Additionally, Certain Affinity provided a team to develop further Forge user editor improvements, and 6 multiplayer map remakes of Halo 2 favorites with new art assets.”
From CA’s website.
I actually just wish that Certain Affinity made everything to do with Halo multiplayer.
Halo 3 (2007): Explosions look beautiful with showers of vibrant fire, smoke, sparks, and debris pieces that stick around and fall. Bodies actually stay for a meaningful period of time and weapons linger long enough to be picked up.
Infinite (2021): Explosions are flat, disappear very quickly, and leave little to no debris that disappears very quickly. Bodies disappear so fast you can barely even bag them and dropped non-power weapons despawn if you blink.
No thanks, I’ll stick with OG Halo 3 (plus the HD and 60fps from MCC). I’m currently not impressed with the Slipspace Engine.
OFC they’d have to fix this stuff before they remade the games. It would be dumb if they used the Slipspace engine like it is now.
Negative. Halo 2A looks better imo than what Infinite launched as.
The Slipspace engine trailer is gorgeous. A complete lie, but a gorgeous one. The actual engine looks pretty meh.
What does this mean?
OFC= Of course*******
Not necessarily the whole games… but I would love to see DLC of certain missions from older games.
Imagine if you had a community vote for the top ten favourite missions and then had them remastered in Infinite.
Lone wolf, pillar of autumn, library, Warthog Run, 343 Guilty Spark, Winter Contingency
Not even remotely interested.
Now if sabre of someone made assets for a new CEA or H3A ODSTA and then those assets could be used by 343i to add new content ex: shotgun, plasma rifle, smg, spiker, fuel rod, ce magnum, silent smg, engineers, odsts, invincible hog, prophets, flood, map remakes and new biomes to infinite at a faster rate by making them compatible with the slipspaces graphic engine then sure I’d buy those as mcc dlc for sure.
Thanks. Would never have worked that out.
I think that they would really have to put in effort to capture the art that was created in those games, and to up their explosions game. Crazy that Halo 3’s explosions still stand up, even crazier that 343 still can’t match them.
I would 100% pay $60 for a remake of Halo 3. At this point Halo: CE would have to be a remake/a Halo Infinite type game with a semi open world but covering all the content of Halo: CE. Would be very cool but I’m doubtful it will happen.
