In the Vidoc “Making Halo 4: First Look” we saw the latest version of Master Chief, the new BR design, some examples of the multiplayer maps, and a version of the Spartan IV and their HUD. A lot of what I saw looked like it was heading in the way of being higher tech and more “functional”. Like the Cyclops Mark II mech on Warhouse and the Halo 4 Warthog are some good examples. However I would like to point out 3:25 in the video where the pistol is seen. That seems to have been practically untouched in comparison to Reach and Halo 3. As a matter of fact, both the pistol and the “rocket pistol” from the Halo 4 teaser trailer seem to be quite smooth and simplistic in design, giving me the idea that there is still a wide variety of design left to be seen (considering we don’t even know who the enemies in the game are). My question is: What is your present opinion of Halo 4’s currently known weapon, character, vehicle, and texture designs? (weapon, character, vehicle, texture, etc.)
I really don’t care as long as the Assault Rifle looks like it did in halo 3
I like the design and love the graphical features Ive seen so far.
In Halo 3 when you looked upclose at the armor you could see small scratches that has an effect that makes it looks like it’s like a cut. Hard to explain. But it wasnt in Halo Reach, Reach had these ugly white texture scratches that looked horrible up close.
The effect from Halo 3 seems to be back. Yay!
Godrays was in Halo 1 and 2 (only when you had an object like a weapon infront of the sun). Godrays are back in Halo 4 and are more like the ones you see in Red Dead Redemption, Crysis and Gears of War 3. Yay!
The outwashed look in Halo Reach is not in Halo 4. Halo 4 seem to go more for the previous Halo look seen in Halo 3 and Halo 3 ODST, but it still has a kinda gritty look. I like it.
